An Artist searching for her place in life after the stage
mlarocca-8641617 January 2020
This film unites the art of ballet with the art of film to tell a story that affects us all... What are we once our skills diminish and we can no longer "perform" our life's work as well as we once did? Well, in the case of a great artist, we search for new ways to express ourselves, whether that be teaching our craft, or whether we can find ourselves in a new form of art. This is a film we can all relate to and we can all learn from. I am a retired programmer. Who knows? Maybe I can act? or dance?... But, if I learned one thing from this film, it is that I should not give up. Thank you, Larissa, for the life lesson.

Defying the limits of age.
dbronstein-347936 August 2023
Larissa, the beautiful ballerina and teacher portrayed in this film perfectly embodies the power one still possesses as they age. Through her dance and teaching, they beauty of her past, remains very much intact. People judge her, but others don't dictate her happiness. Her story is filled with emotion, character, and of course, dance. As I watched this film, I couldn't help but I appreciate the cinematic beauty introduced by director Tatyana Bronstein. What a great documentary! The director honestly did a great job with this one, and I am excited to see her future films. Recommend it to all!!

Art film about aging ballet dancer
untilnow995 November 2019
Not my cup of tea. Starts out with woman gracefully, in ballet form, planting her bare feet on smooth stones. Segues into same woman artfully performing ballet arms and kind of slow motion "swimming" her way through field full of goldenrod. Every once in a while her toe-shoed foot arches up above her head.

I enjoy ballet. Not into biography of ballet dancer I never heard of. Could only make it through first five minutes and kept thinking of the time I watched an Egret stalking frogs in a field.

Maybe you like this kind of stuff.
