The main character of Barbara (played by Meghan Chadeayne) is a homage to the character of Barbara in the original Night of the Living Dead (1968) by George Romero.
Meghan Chadeayne said she got involved with this film when she met director Rickey Bird on the set of another horror feature. He jokingly pitched the idea of a grindhouse style short with a nude prostitute fighting zombies and she said she'd love to do it. A few months later, she was stripping down and running around locations stark naked covered in blood.
When asked what advice she'd give new actresses about taking nude roles, Meghan Chadeayn said, "Go for it! Especially if the film or production company has a good reputation! Being naked isn't a crime, especially if there's a good reason for it (like killing zombies.) I know actors/actresses get a bad rep or whatnot for 'exposing themselves' early on in their career, but the majority of even mainline actors have shown something for the sake of their films!"
Meghan Chadeayne spent 12 hours a day fully nude filming this short. She said in an interview that being naked in front of the cast and mostly male crew was intimidating at first, but after she realized no one on set was inappropriate or she wasn't being shot in a grotesque way, she relaxed and was able to focus on the performance. She said, "It took a second to get used to it and not worry about silly things like how my ass looked or if anyone was staring. It wasn't bad at all, and I actually enjoyed not having to worry about wardrobe." She also added, "Besides, after the blood and guts were applied, I hardly felt naked." Chadeayne also appeared nude in the IndieGo crowdfunding video and posed naked for several promotional photos.
Meghan Chadeayne was still an aircraft mechanic in the Navy during filming. She said in an interview that at one point, she finished a night shoot at 4:00am Monday morning and had to drive two hours back to base still partially covered in fake blood. She rushed to shower and dress and just barely made it to morning formation, exhausted.
