Not great, but disagree with bad reviews
ignatiuskafka3 October 2014
A lot of reviewers lambast this show. Maybe I like it because of the hosts and I like cheesy (the other description I've seen here).

Honestly, there are so dang many tat shows now that it's gotten a bit ridiculous in general. At least this show keeps it fun and light.

Are they the best artists *ever*? No, but they aren't bad and they improve the bad tats they find.

This show is a good time killer if you want silliness and like tats.

Is it formulaic? Yes, but so is every other tat show.

At least it's not yet another "competition" show, which is something I'm truly sick of at this point.

Awful, fake show...
AdoptiveMumToSeven25 July 2015
I just watched the show where the "Nina, will you merry me" heart was covered up. I thought it looked like Sharpie because the ink appeared to be on top of the skin rather than IN the skin, and it was awfully shiny... and the ME was smeared with the smeared ink clearly visible on his skin!! Then when they did the 'coverup' there was no part of the bright red heart visible AT ALL... and on the final product, the pale greenish blue was pale greenish blue... which it couldn't have been if it was actually covering up a bright red heart.

Why does this show feel the need to fake stuff?? This is terrible, even by reality TV standards...

This show is my new fave!

This show is freaking awesome! Fully entertaining and personally, It is one of the very few reality shows worth watching. These guys are hilarious and to say the show is fake and no talent is SO far from the truth! I personally have met a ton of people in my chair (hairstylist) that swear by Pussycat tattoos. Do your research before posting speculations! Dirk and Ruckus rock! Dirk can make an embarrassing tattoo look like a TOTAL work of art! The fact that his family makes little cameos just adds to the show. I love variety and a non scripted show. They not only work on hotties, but on completely average folks as well. I hope this show is around a heck of a lot longer than the brainless real housewives of who the hell cares and hillbilly trash shows little honey friggin boo boo! Keep up the great work guys!!

Bad Ink - BAD SHOW!
fischerc8811 January 2014
Yeah, I get it.... A Reality Show about fixing bad tattoos (or poor decisions?) CAN be interesting... But the 2 "hosts" RUIN this show! There's only one thing that's worse than having to live through someone who isn't funny - and that's having to listen to someone who isn't funny but THINKS he's hysterical! BOTH of the losers on this show think they are funny AND cool... And trust me, they're NEITHER! They are often times condescending towards those who they approach about fixing their tattoos, as if the have P.h.d's ( which-i-am-sure-they-do-not!) I am boggled by how these dudes even got on TV? I can't even stand to watch it, sorry, amateur night at the lodge is looking a lot more appealing in comparison to this show! Waste of my time... I'd rate it with a zero is it were possible...

...seen them all.

This is another show where a couple of guys in tank tops and fedoras run a tattoo shop. The "twist" is that these guys specialize in covering up embarrassing tattoos. They go visit potential customers or just walk around asking random people if they have tattoos, and then the people tell them their embarrassing tattoo story before going to the tattoo shop to get it covered up. Then you see the finished product and everyone is happy. The end.

The supposedly unique premise of this show really doesn't do much to separate it from the other 500 tattoo-related shows out there. You're probably better off watching Dave Navarro's show, if tattoos are really that interesting to you.

If only you could give the rating 11/10. This show truly moved me and changed my life for the better. Ruckus feels like my best friend and I haven't even met him. His jokes will make you laugh till your laying In a puddle of your own tears. And dirk is just the most talented man alive. I'm truly blessed to have the honor of viewing this show and I highly recommend this to anyone with humor, heart and intelligence. Do yourself the favor and let this make your life better. I hope this show gains the popularity that it truly deserves all my friends are begging me to put this on whenever they come over. Thank you Ruckus and Dirk for the memories that will last me a lifetime I can't thank you enough.

Terrible fake show
Kelly-13030 August 2013
So the other night I was flipping through the channels and happened to see a show on A&E called Bad Ink.

The premise of the show is two total tools walk around Vegas and try to check out bad tattoos. Then they talk the person into getting a cover-up on the supposed bad tattoo while laughing at the outrageous story behind the bad tattoo. The catch is the original bad tattoo is fake and obviously drawn on with a sharpie, and the cover-up is in my opinion terrible.

One girl supposedly had a lopsided tramp stamp so they covered it up by just making it a bigger lopsided tramp stamp.

Tattoo cover-up in Vegas
chuckeames17 February 2014
This show has the very interesting backdrop of Las Vegas with all of the unexpected that can be expected. Dirk is a great tattoo artist and his sidekick, Ruckus, make the show fun to watch. I like the extra personal touch they throw in when they aren't doing the tattoo search and cover. The goofy dog is a nice addition to the show. I also like the fact that these two guys also play in a band. This makes for a multifaceted couple of dudes. I hope the show keys in on more of the personal side of the main characters and the Las Vegas scene. There are so many angles that can be taken in this setting that I expect this show will last for a few seasons. These guys give the whole tattoo experience a new look and add a fun side to bad decisions.

Irritating, unfunny. Like being trapped with a pair of loud unfunny jerk at a party where you want to leave.

Cover up tattoos that are almost as bad as the bad originals. Lots of repetition.

Waste of time.

Fake Tattoos Fake Show
jasonvieira743 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
It clearly tries to compete with Tattoo Nightmares, but I don't know if the so called artists have no competence for cover ups or the production simply decided that the whole thing would be staged.

Any tattooed person or tattoo artist know that part of the tattoos was sharpies and the other part was temporary tattoos. It was pretty clear when the tattoo was happening and finished.

Cover-ups are darker, thicker and bigger, and leave some traces of the old one behind. The school teacher school was soooo well done that the old tattoo simply vanished, leaving a whole lot of room for the new one.

I tried to watch more than 3 episodes and no longer will

Its a&e

Dirk is a real @$$(-)0le to some of his "clients" and loves to categorize people as "nerds" "jocks" etc. Ruckus keeps the show funny and makes up for Dirk's mentality of superiority. Dirk calls himself a "Legend" in Vegas, but I had never knew who he was in Vegas till the show aired...the tattoos seem pretty well done but I am not a tattoo artist so I wouldn't know for sure whats good or not. While the show has some nice art, it is also about the series of dramatic events that take place during its airtime. All in all, the show fulfills its main purpose: to entertain. The idiot who wrote the initial critique is really at Dirk's level so I can see why the clash of personalities, these guys are funny paired up, and possess a chemistry that project nice dynamics during the show.

I like seeing tattoo shows
braquecubism15 June 2021
There was a show, didn't last on fixing, covering unwanted tattoos. Shop in SilverLake Los Angeles. The problem was they played it one time only, hard to find, so the show didn't last. He is a real artist.

Some reviews suggest that the original tattoos are fake, as the cover up colors weren't possible. There are plenty of bad tattoos; no need to fake. Cover up is a specialty. Biggest common problem Dirk seems to run into -- scar tissue, which is the sign of a bad tattooer. The problem I have with Dirk, is that he makes his tattoos too dense, with no open skin. I've seen others who do the same. His work could really benefit from some open skin. Comliments the tattoo, and makes it more readable.

Warning: Spoilers
Saw this show preview a million times so I got suckered into watching it. Thought it was going to be a little bit different than Spike's Tattoo Nightmares. I was wrong. This show is so cheesy. Las Vegas is losing it's pizazz because of shows like these.I agree with the others, the guys are tools and their "skills" are not so great. The poor girl with the Pam Anderson tattoo got ripped off by them. The flower was awful. At least Spike's show has really good artists. Maybe if the show goes to just the guys walking around Las Vegas looking for bad tattoos, then maybe they can still get a pay check. Maybe for the best, the show will get canceled.
