"true gonzo documentary if you see closely"
smkbsws16 September 2020
The only documentary he made, and it had to be about Tagore's life whose inspiration is very much nudely visible in Ghosh's most works. It is a true gonzo documentary if you see closely. It has proper documentary elements, and some dramatised versions of different phases of Tagore's life, enacted by the actors. Even, we can see the director's pursuit and shooting, and the some problems he faced during shooting. Sounds funny enough, and almost everybody I know hated this film - but I recommend this for 2 reasons. One, this kind of documentary I have not seen in Indian film industry yet. And of course, the last good films before Ghosh's premature demise; RIP/AMEN
