Hopefulness
Hitchcoc10 June 2019
Once again we are introduced to a dystopian society which immediately seems hopeless. But the main character here fights to remove himself from a program developed by some bad people. He manages to create hope for himself, knowing that one piece of evidence could make life easier for him.

Very well executed.

I caught this in Miami during their Sci-fi film fest. There is a reason it won best short and audience favorite.

This film is epic in both execution and scale. This couldn't have been cheap, but they did everything right.

In dystopian future sci fi, a lot of times the technology is unrealistic and over done. This movie used a minimalistic take on future technology and it worked.

The ominousness of the world slowly unfolds and is a healthy reminder of classics like 1984. Moving through the film you see that there is an entire world filled with detail. I particularly appreciated the The scale of this movie can be seen during the well executed fight scenes and lastly, when the hero accomplishes his journey, the human element of the authoritarian military soldier is exemplified. It gave the end of this picture a warm, terrestrial element that was a nice payoff. I won't spoil the final shot but it gives incite into the vast universe the director created.

This is built to be a feature, I would love to see it.

Wow!

I caught this film at Holly Shorts this past year and could not believe what I was seeing on the screen. Usually at the indie level the visual effects are "visible," and can take you out of the movie. Not so here. Teddy Cecil and his gifted crew of special effects artists have created an immersive and convincing world that is on par if not better than some of the effects one might see in mainstream Hollywood films. The final scene is jaw-droppingly beautiful and leaves you wanting a sequel. Definitely check this out if it comes to your a film festival in your town and see this achievement. I'd recommend it for anyone who likes stories along the lines of Philip K. Dick or Terry Gilliam.

well crafted

Its basic virtue remains the status of nice surprise. An exceptional Sci. Fi , well crafted in each aspect. A simple story, inspired fight scenes, lovely portrait of the miner, the parable form and the beautiful end. A great short film, using, in wise manner, the classic dystopian recipe .
