It's a fun Halloween episode and the humor actually comes down to the array of funny costumes; Adam's Rubik's Cube, Pops and his slightly-off Ghostbusters get-up . . . but especially the Incredible Hulk, perfectly suited to Barry's temper. Now that I think about it, this was just an excuse to embarrass Barry.
Parts of this are eerily similar to a Halloween-themed "Freaks and Geeks" episode, but both shows probably dipped into the same hat of sitcom story lines. But it's solid, and an earnest appeal to the wholesome act of trick-or-treating helps bring everything together.
