Drunk with Green Screen power
lor_13 May 2019
Despite his high renown within the industry, Jeff Mullen (aka Will Ryder) makes terrible movies, ranging from gonzo junk to bigger-budget porn-parodies. This takeoff on "Grease" is extremely embarrassing as the filmmakers, notably Mullen and his camp-oriented partner in crime Scott David, indulge themselves ineptly in various mainstream notions of content.

Worst example of this is the movie's songs and musical performances, amateurish in the extreme. Injecting dirty words into lyrics is not automatically funny and comes off as childish, while the dancing and singing is awful. A presumption that audiences want to see porn stars "stretch" by doing non-sex material is quite ridiculous, as fans of this disreputable "parody" genre merely want hot sex by players vaguely resembling iconic TV or movie stars in character.

So Riley Reid, in a lousy blonde wig (David persists in featuring crummy wigs in virtually all his productions) gives poor line readings and is thoroughly wrong for the Olivia Newton-John part. Seth Gamble, a go-to guy in many a parody, does a dumb Travolta impression in the lead, while his supporting cast of greasers merely ham it up. Inevitable NonSex actor James Bartholet (playing both in drag and straight here) enthuses in the BTS short subject on how great this obviously deficient movie is.

Stealing the thunder from Riley are some sexy actresses, notably Gaia in a couple of deep-throating scenes. Coup de grace is the use of Green Screen for nearly every scene, giving a flat look to the TV-style lit feature, meant to be as aritifical as possible. I'm sure Mullen & David are proud of their green screen work, but it's ridiculous, especially when compared randomly to an impressive porn feature shot that way over a decade earlier, the forgotten Jill Kelly witchcraft fantasy "Carnal Secrets", that I happened to view shortly after suffering through this turkey.
