I loved this episode! The Strain is really starting to pick up. In this episode, we begin to see the vampires come out.

Eph of course is in trouble by his boss. This episode delved more into Setrakian's past with Eichorst. It also tells about his first encounter with The Master.

More of the vampires are also being found and killed by Abraham. He is really going on them.

Can't wait for the next episode! Looks like the eclipse is finally happening.

Hopefully more of Gus will be shown.

"Runaways" is a typical filler episode, with flashbacks of Setrakian in World War II being transferred to a concentration camp. There is nothing important to highlight in this episode, except that Eph is wanted by the FBI and the police. My vote is seven.

Reaction / Review for The Strain Season 1 Episode 5: Episode 4 was great and I gave it a rating of 8.5/10. What exactly is the urologist supposed to do? His private parts are gone lol. Eph and Setrakian working together is exactly what I need. Will Setrakian be able to create a small army to fight the strigoi? Nora's mom seems like she is suffering from alzheimer's disease, that sucks. Ansel's wife killed herself, this is so tragic. I will never get bored of watching Setrakian with his bad-ass sword. Will Palmer become a vampire or not? I thought by now the master would have turned him into one. The special effects for the vampire tongues are cool. No point for a quarantine now, the virus is spreading fast. Overall a great episode, excited to watch more. My rating is 8/10.

The pawn shop owner and Eph

Eph and the pawnshop guy keeps killing the passengers and they killed Ansel and saw his wife hanged herself. Everett isn't convinced that they're turning and Eph ran away from the building thanks to Jim. The pest conrol guy found the vampires down in the sewage system and they are the ones that's been scaring away the rats out of the sewers.
