This is another popular episode of Fireman Sam in CGI series, even with Norman again unlikeable. I don't know whether fire stations have open days (although the movie of the hurricane in Pontypandy after fire station was renovated and reopened). It's also one of the few episodes that has different title to the US version, it named "Open House" - quite strange that sounds.
Surely it's unfortunate not many characters like the Sparkes family, or Lily Chen or PC Williams were introduced at the time of this episode released, as visitors / spectators - Jones twins and their parents: Charlie and Bronwyn, Mandy and her parents: Mike and Helen, Norman and Dilys Price and Trevor Evans - 10 of them, that's a small number for a public crowd.
Norman quickly wanting he can do a lot of things (obviously unlikely) including driving Jupiter - that seems bit of foreshadowing to the time he did drove Jupiter with his cousin Derek alongside.
I don't know how long the open day took from Steele announcing on stage, Penny abseiling from training tower, Sam showing the kids (just Norman and James, not the girls) inside Jupiter, Elvis's dog display with Radar and the high-rise fire rescue (which actually turned to the rooftop rescue of James and Norman) - whole lot could've done under an hour.
Ending with Steele furiously shocked his boot is Radar mangled, "Cridlington" and Sam's one-liner: Sorry Sir, Elvis has left the building" LOL!
