- The film opens with a secret police operation orchestrated by Shivani Shivaji Roy (Rani Mukherjee), a dedicated Crime Branch Senior Inspector of the Mumbai Police, in order to catch a pimp named Rahman from his hideout. She barges in with her team and arrests Rahman and rescues his mistress. Shivani lives with her husband, Dr. Bikram Roy, and teenage niece, Meera (Avneet Kaur).
Shivani had earlier rescued a young teen girl named Pyaari from her corrupt uncle at a Mumbai railway station, where her uncle was trying to sell her. After saving Pyaari, Shivani admitted her to an orphanage. When Pyari goes missing from the orphanage, she starts investigating. Shivani asks the tea stall owner next to the orphanage to keep an eye on who comes and goes. She learns about a man named Kapil (Saanand Verma) who comes to the orphanage to click pictures of girls. Shivani picks up Kapil, but he is shot while is in the back seat of Shivani's cop car. Shivani realizes that an organized gang is behind Pyaari's abduction and Kapil's killing.
Meanwhile, Karan Rastogi (Tahir Raj Bhasin) runs a prostitution business with the abducted girls. He is shown to be an educated, yet ruthless operator. He has a way of getting the girls to do his bidding, by promising them a life full of foreign trips and 5-star hotels as a high-class escort.
Shivani forces Rahman to reveal the names of Kapil's associates and comes across Sunny Katyal (Anant Vidhaat Sharma), a car-dealer who operates a trafficking business in Mumbai. Rahman says that Sunny is only the front, but the business is operated by someone higher up who is hiding behind the scenes. Using intelligence inputs, she tracks down Sunny in Mumbai. Sunny realizes that he is under watch by the Crime branch and contacts his lawyer, Vakeel (Anil George), in Delhi. Vakeel finds that Shivani is the inspector behind the heat on Sunny. Vakeel discusses the matter with Karan.
Karan, aware that Shivani is continually monitoring his cartel's activities, gets in touch with her on phone, suggesting her not to interrupt his business. Shivani says that she wants Pyaari back. Karan wants to bribe Shivani, but Shivani is not willing to relent. Karan says that its too late as Pyaari has seen everything and he cannot afford to take this risk in his business.
Shivani now starts chasing Karan, who runs an organized crime cartel involving child trafficking and drugs. Working with Shivani are Jafar (Digvijay Rohidas) and More (Ashish Warang). Her aim is to hunt Karan down and rescue Pyaari (Priyanka Sharma). She takes the task more personally and goes beyond her legal rights and duties to achieve her aim as she's very close to the girl she wants to rescue. As a warning, he spreads fake news that Shivani's husband Dr Bikram Roy (Jisshu Sengupta) has misused his profession as a doctor to molest a female patient, causing Bikram to be thrown off-duty.
Vakeel finds that Shivani is going to arrest Sunny and sends an assassin to eliminate Sunny. Shivani intervenes and saves Sunny's life. In exchange, Sunny reveals Vakeel's identity, as he was his only point of contact to Karan's organization. Based in Sunny's information, Shivani shifts her investigation to Delhi and is joined by Inspector Sodhi.
Karan also retaliates by putting Pyaari up for auctions & getting her sexually assaulted by his customers. In a gruesome and brutal incident, Karan dismembers one of Pyari's fingers and sends it to Shivani's house wrapped in box as a gift.
Meanwhile, Karan's right-hand man Mattu (Aman Uppal) gets a contract to host a party full of prostitutes from a man named Tandon on the behalf of a minister in Delhi, Taneja Ji (Sanjay Taneja). Mattu also kills one of the girls in Karan's brothel at his orders when she contracts dengue, further scaring Pyaari.
Sunny says that the only way to lure Vakeel is by girls or by drugs. Shivani sets up a trap involving decoy drug dealer named Mboso (Peter Muxka Manuel) from Nigeria, who pretend to offer very expensive rare South American cocaine to Karan and Vakeel. When the decoy drug dealers are negotiating the deal with Vakeel, Shivani with other police officers, barges in. While Karan manages to escape, Vakeel finds himself in a situation where he senses he would definitely get arrested. He figures that if he gets arrested, the police will interrogate him, leading to Karan's arrest. He, therefore, tries to destroy evidence by destroying his mobile phone's SIM card and then shoots himself. The police believe that Vakeel was the person they were looking for. But Shivani is adamant that the mastermind is still hidden as she had spoken to him, and she knows that he is still absconding.
Shivani and her Delhi-based teammate Balwinder Singh Sodhi (Mikhail Yawalkar) track down a -tailor who knew Vakeel from a long time. They find the tailor via the clothes on Vakeel's body. He reveals that a prostitute named Meenu Rastogi was Vakeel's closest associate. Shivani's continued investigation leads her to Karan's house.
Karan's mother Meenu (Mona Ambegaonkar) sedates Shivani. She is abducted and brought to a party organized by Karan. She meets Pyaari at the party, where Pyaari and other young girls are forced to work as prostitutes. Karan invites Taneja Ji and allows him to sexually assault Shivani. However, she escapes and ruthlessly beats Taneja before taking him hostage. Shivani confronts the situation all by herself and forces Karan to an enclosed space, also rescuing and taking those girls with her. She challenges Karan to fight her, where she hits him badly. Sensing that Karan might escape the law, given the corruption in policing and judicial system, she hands over Karan to the girls, who beat him to death. Subsequently, Sodhi and the entire team barges in and arrests Mattu, Tandon and Karan's gang members. Meenu is also attacked by the girls and gets paralyzed by shock while Taneja survives, before being sentenced to life imprisonment.
