More than a little entertaining
theedvela15 April 2017
An ensemble of Australian kid actors, with some of the best comedic timing I've seen, makes this show captivating. It goes back to the idea of: "tell me a story" as in this show a motley crew of diverse students, pretty much tell the story of their day at school (particularly at lunch time) with flashbacks that make it all the more funny and remarkable. The writing is crisp, but it's the kids' performances that truly make the show stellar!

Great watch for kids and adults alike
never-right21 October 2020
Cracking show. I love it and my kids love it. The stories are relatable and not the same old same old. Great to have them narrating the stories and even better to not have any canned laughing like irritating Disney shows when a joke is made. Only shame is they look too old to be playing school kids in the specials. Maybe could have done without them.

I am 23 years old and I'm so sad they cancelled little lunch
megeubs13 November 2020
I came across this when it was on Netflix a few years ago and I, fully an adult, binge watched the entire thing in a day. It's the best show and I genuinely enjoyed every single bit of it, still mad it didn't get picked up for another season so I came to let my frustrations and appreciations out in this review thank you

OMG! This Little Lunch is SO funny
sandraleab23 September 2016
My sister , of whom has an 8 year old, told my husband and I about Little Lunch. We were skeptical. But once we started watching it, we were hooked! This show is hilarious. Rory is SO funny! And when the characters look directly at the camera and speak...PRICELESS! So we wound up binge watching. We are SO excited for season 2!!! You will not be disappointed. I mean, we didn't even have a kid in the room watching! So I'd say this show is age appropriate for any age. Also, the kids in this show are respectful of adults, not like some of the Nickelodeon or Disney shows- where the children are Very disrespectful and they try and pass off as comedy. Little Lunch is genuinely a funny great little show!

Love this show!

I have started watching this with my 10-year old girl. What a delight. Both of us end up laughing and wanting to watch another episode. The cast is superb and the comedic timing perfect. The interactions are great and feel relatively realistic as well. While we were not sure what to expect, and the opening sequence has a sesame street feel (leaving us to wonder if the show would be 'too young'), once we started watching it, we knew it was going to be fine and age appropriate. The writers do a great job as well, setting the story lines up and keeping the characters consistent. Some very funny scenarios are created. Can't wait for another season!

This show is amazing!

I Have a little sister the age of 7 and she watches all these crappy shows like Liv and Maddie and Jessie which are just crappy copies of the last show that was canceled. But this show is amazing , i watch the office a lot and this show reminds me of a kid version of it. It's not annoying and pretty entertaining for the parents and older siblings. Definitely not a show that I watch by myself but ill watch it if my sister is watching it in the main room. Great show!

Fabulous family friendly comedy
This Australian gem has been watched many times by my family and everyone from 40 to 4 loves the talented ensemble cast of children and the great comic timing. The child characters are believable and we have fallen In love with all of them and their idiosyncrasies.

Loved this, so funny

I'm from the United States and my girls used to love to watch this show with me. Wish the show went on longer. It makes me hungry and laugh. I would say the show is PG rated. There is a slight inappropriate joke or two, but nothing too bad. See the show first, if you want to be careful at what your kids watch.

Little Lunch? More like Huge Success!
charlottechase-809672 October 2018
Little Lunch is the epitome of the tropes of Australian primary school. I'm currently 7:48 into episode one and the character development has really brought these mid teen actors playing children to life. Although, did see spoilers that Melanie's dog is called Rudy. Upsetting, though nevertheless this shows Australia's commitment to great television.

Little Lunch=The Office for Kids
Tales-ofa-Fangirl-witha-DVR2 September 2020
Do you find it hilarious when little kids make their problems sound like adult issues? Then why aren't you watching Australia's Little Lunch?

This 15 minute "mockumentary" takes on Office feel as it follows six kids who embellish and over dramatize stories during the most important time of their day--lunch (or in their case a snack time that takes before lunch). It originally aired in 2015 in Australia and then was on Netflix. Now you can find it on Amazon Prime Video. It's super cute and definitely worth the watch if you're looking for something light-hearted and feel good. It's not just for kids!

Any good review obviously written by family members.

This show is a miracle. Not a single charismatic actor on screen, not a single interesting thing talked about, the worst acting of all time....is this an intentionally bad show to troll us or something?

I did not know a Tv show could be this bad. This is just bad. Really bad. I'm without words.

I Love Little Lunch
Jesse_25 May 2021
Genuinely this is such a great show. As far as Australian comedy-drama TV series go Little Lunch is certainly up there, being genuinely funny and easy to watch. I always come back to Little Lunch when I'm having a bit of a downer, because the humour in the show is just spot on. I'm not even the target audience and it is one of my favourite shows - I highly recommend it if you haven't already seen it, and even if you have, take this as a sign to go and re-watch it. Maybe this was the peak of Australian TV - who knows? I certainly reckon it's a high in Aussie broadcasting - the content spans many age groups in terms of entertainment factor, making it the perfect show to watch if, say, your little cousins are over and you want to watch TV.

This is Austraia Primary School
adrianjulz24 February 2024
As a parent of a boy with ADHD and a primary school teacher, this is one of my favourite shows to watch with my boy. They make the kids be kids but still find funny little stories for each episode.

But it's the actors that sell it. Each has their personality and, like so many Australian shows, don't rely on being loud or annoying in order to keep kid's attention. Rory, of course, is my boy's favourite. All the little things he does really validates my boy's experience at school. My boy was in stitches when they were talking about Rory chewing everything.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rory, and some of the other kids, are just acting as themselves. They are so immersed in their characters that it's the best explanation.

Funny with a crisp, fresh script
hailey_emzz8 January 2023
Child actors can be a huge hit or miss. In Little Lunch, all six of the child actors are a HIT. Their acting is so good that it was hard to believe they were actually acting. Every episode is vibrant and humorous enough for adults to enjoy as well as kids. It's the sort of dry Aussie humour that I love.

It was also filmed at St Kilda Primary School, which I attended as a kid, so as an Aussie who lives in the States, I loved getting to show this to my kids so that they could see where Mummy went to school. We've watched this series several times over, and I am looking forward to watching it again.
