Intelligent comedy about two opposing brothers
erichleonhard3 April 2014
This is a very amusing and brilliantly acted tale about two brothers who couldn't be more different. Daniel is the idealistic off-off-theater actor who earns his money as a warehouseman, Rudi is the smart and successful IT-Manager with the nice little family and the expensive car. When Rudi convinces his younger brother to spy on one of his employees, the clever but single software developer Nora, Daniel is drawn into a personal conflict. He accepts the job but inevitably he and Nora fall in love. When Daniel finds out that his brother is double-crossing him things are already running out of control.

The film works as a comedy but it also has philosophical aspects about the concepts of living, about trust, power and personal relationships. I liked this new work of Austrian Cinema because of its subtle humor and spirited direction of a newcomer, Johanna Moder.

Totally cool film!

What a cool film this is! It perfectly portrays the unique Viennese lifestyle in a humorous way against the backdrop of two brothers who live in two different worlds. Their pursuit of the same girl reveals their brotherly similarities as well as their brotherly differences. The cast of characters one meets along the way add to the coolness of this Austrian cinema comedy. The acting is first-rate - especially Marcel Mohab in the lead role. Manuel Rubey is completely believable as the more uptight brother. The editing is crisp and a great musical score augments your enjoyment. What's not to like about this film? (btw - The film is Austrian ... and not German as listed in IMDb)
