  [grabs the pouch of pearls, but Vincent aims a pistol at it] 

  Jack Vincent : We'd be at each others throats within a week. No one would sleep for fear of being robbed, or worse.

  [uses the pistol to guide Mason's hand into dropping the pouch on the table]
