Not a success

Someone thought they'd be arty here. It just didn't work. To succeed, as I've said before, you have to be saying something in an original way that pertains to the film and life itself. Jagged camera shots, bright colours, sped-up film, silly angles just don't cut it. When this was juxtaposed with the voice-over, it was just a failure. It's a shame, as this could have been filmed straight and far more successfully. As it was, the film was just a disjointed mess.

The storyline presented for the film makes it look as if the flick is some sort of profound voyage of self discovery. It's not. It's a presentation of what horny lads get up to. Max and Malik already knew what they were doing and were aware of their mutual attraction. They legitimised it by sharing it with a girl.

The male leads were attractive and they were convincing in their rôles. That's why the mark is two stars. What a pity they were used so wastefully.

...for an age or state or tension, self discover or self definition. The poetry of image, sexuality, a cemetery and threesome, bodies as snails and music, friends and experiments and the last scene as only simple explanation for a story about teenagers , desires, needs and seduction. A film who reminds old facts, many invented, part lived. And the portrait of a sort of unique form of freedom and happiness and lost in the other as in yourself.
