- Quotes
Conan O'Brien: You are making a movie with Carrot Top, right?
Courtney Thorne-Smith: Made a movie with Carrot Top.
Conan O'Brien: Okay. You made a movie with Carrot Top, it's not out yet. Can you put the picture up of Carrot Top again? Just so we can all see him?
[picture of Carrot Top is shown]
Conan O'Brien: There it is again, yeah. All right. Okay.
Norm MacDonald: Wait a minute, she left "Melrose Place" to do a movie with Carrot Top?
Conan O'Brien: That's where I'm goin', my friend! This begs the question, now: Why a movie with Carrot Top?
Courtney Thorne-Smith: Why a movie with Carrot Top?
Conan O'Brien: I don't know much about Carrot Top. Y'know? I, I don't know much about him. I'm a little jealous, 'cause he's a red-haired comedian, and I felt like, you'd do a movie with ME first, then move onto Carrot Top, then to Ralph Malph from "Happy Days".
[Courtney laughs]
Conan O'Brien: Y'know, sort of the three, there's an order in which you do movies with the red-heads. What's he like, first of all?
Courtney Thorne-Smith: He's extremely sweet.
Conan O'Brien: Nice guy.
Courtney Thorne-Smith: He really is, and he worked very hard and he was adorable.
Conan O'Brien: And he works with a lot of props and stuff too, right?
Courtney Thorne-Smith: Not in the movie.
Conan O'Brien: Oh, in the movie, they took his props away?
Courtney Thorne-Smith: They took his props away.
Conan O'Brien: That's a bad time to suddenly take away everything you know about comedy. Y'know, you've been using props now all your life for comedy, now we're gonna take 'em away when you make your first movie. Was he okay, though, with it? He was cool?
Courtney Thorne-Smith: He was great, he did a wonderful job.
Conan O'Brien: Do you have a scene where you, you and him embrace?
Courtney Thorne-Smith: Lots of making out.
Conan O'Brien: Oh, for God's sake. All right.
Courtney Thorne-Smith: Nothin' but makin' out. It's like "9 1/2 Weeks", but with Carrot Top.
[Conan laughs]
Courtney Thorne-Smith: Basically what we were doing.
Conan O'Brien: Wow. I gotta check out that movie!
Norm MacDonald: Is it called "9 1/2 Seconds"?
[audience laughter/applause]
Norm MacDonald: He premature ejaculated.
Conan O'Brien: You know... you know what happened? This is what happened. You know what happened: He said "9 1/2 Seconds", and I'm lookin' at him, and I know there's MORE. And I wait and wait, and I see the glimmer in the eye, and then bang. I thought you were goin' to "crack whore", but no. But, uh, what's the movie gonna be called?
Norm MacDonald: I know what it's gonna be called.
Conan O'Brien: Yeah, what's that?
Norm MacDonald: If it's got Carrot Top in it, you know what a good name for it would be?
Conan O'Brien: What's that, Norm?
Norm MacDonald: "Box Office Poison".
Courtney Thorne-Smith: I'm in it too!
Conan O'Brien: She's in it!
Courtney Thorne-Smith: What about MY career?
Conan O'Brien: The girl sitting to your left is in the movie...
Norm MacDonald: I'm gonna go see it!
[Conan laughs]
Courtney Thorne-Smith: After you scare everybody else away?
Norm MacDonald: No, I love this girl. I would see any movie with this girl in it. She's a beautiful lady. And a talented, nice talk show guest.
Conan O'Brien: Okay. As evidenced by her appearance on our RIVAL SHOW! All right, well there's this two hour season finale of "Melrose Place", there's this movie coming on, title undetermined at this point.
Courtney Thorne-Smith: "Chairman of the Board".
Conan O'Brien: Oh. All right.
[to Norm]
Conan O'Brien: Do something with THAT, ya freak. And...
Norm MacDonald: I, I bet the "board" is spelled "b-o-r-e-d".
[Conan and audience laugh]
