Zelda Santley comes onstage and does impersonations of Ted Lewis, Fanny Brice, Mae West and Maurice Chevalier. If you know who these performers are, you'll enjoy this short. If the names mean nothing to you, you will react with as much confusion as if she was an Elvis Impersonator in 1952.
She's accompanied on the piano by Victor Pelle, who does a good job. Of most interest is that while she is changing her outfit a bit for each bit, there's an overhead shot of Mr. Pelle's hands on the keyboard. It brackets the bits very nicely.
Impersonators' acts serve two purposes: first, one can enjoy their sheer ability to imitate other performers. Miss Santley is decent at this part of the job. The other purpose is to give you the performance by the star at a moderate cost. Vitaphone could hardly have afforded to hire these stars for a 7-minute short.
