Jessica Alexander, who starred in the recent psychological horror movie A Banquet (pictured above) and the dystopian thriller Glasshouse, is now playing the lead role in Fallen, a supernatural series being made for the Brazilian streaming service Globoplay. Fallen is now filming, and given the fact that most of the cast are not Brazilian I have a feeling the show is going to be available on other services than Globoplay at some point.
Alexander’s co-stars include Alexander Siddig (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso), Gijs Blom (The Letter for the King), Timothy Innes (The Last Kingdom), Josefine Koenig (My Name Is Josy), Lawrence Walker (The ReZort), Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness (Days of the Bagnold Summer), Laura Majid (Five), Courtney Chen (FBI: International), and newcomers Esme Kingdom, Maura Bird, Samantha Bell, and Julian Krenn.

If there’s one thing social media reveals about Generation Z, especially when you’re in a non-stop pop culture bubble, it’s that they lack a certain amount of pop culture literacy. This is often attributed to the fact that they did not grow up with VH1’s I Love The ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s series playing on a loop in…...

After The Witcher surprised a lot of people by becoming the most popular TV show in the world on its way to also becoming Netflix‘s second most-watched series of 2019 behind only the cultural juggernaut that is Stranger Things, the streaming service look to be throwing their hat firmly into the ring in an effort to establish themselves as the place to be for big budget fantasy after the end of HBO’s Game of Thrones left a huge gap in the market.

Those looking for an alternative to the 118 feature films unspooling at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival will be wise to check out Slamdance, which runs concurrently to Sundance in Park City, Utah, and launches Friday, January 24. One standout among Slamdance’s narrative features is “Thunderbolt in Mine Eye,” executive-produced by unstoppable indie duo Mark and Jay Duplass, as part of their ongoing efforts to bolster new voices via their Hometown Heroes partnership. Funded via Seed&Spark, this is the first film to come out of the Duplass brothers’ new collaboration, and IndieWire has the exclusive first trailer below.
Directed by Sarah Sherman and Zachary Ray Sherman, “Thunderbolt in Mine Eye” follows a brainy 14-year-old who embarks on the awkward journey of first love — with her brother’s best friend! — all the while exploring her budding feminism at her high school. “’Thunderbolt’ has no business being as sweet, smart, and accomplished as it is.

Post-apocalyptic zombie movies are ten-a-penny these days, it often seem like we get a new one every month, thankfully The Rezort (also known as Generation Z) gives us a new spin on the familiar story… Following a near-apocalyptic zombie outbreak, humans are once again in control. If an occasional rogue zombie finds its way into everyday life, it is quickly disposed of by the authorities. In this day and age, people know how to handle “Zee’s”, so much so that it has become big business to hunt the undead.
The latest craze is the Zafari. Part blood sport, part therapeutic revenge following the losses suffered during the outbreak, the zombie safari is a chance to shoot and kill the un-dead out in the wild on an island resort.

In the aftermath of a brutal war between the living dead and the strictly living, a zombie safari offers a unique type of therapy and closure for traumatized survivors, but as our exclusive clip from the new horror film The ReZort shows, a new battle may just be beginning within the shores of the eerie island attraction.

The Rezort feels like a Saturday Night SyFy Special with actual funding, which is a compliment in my book. As most good zombie flicks do, horror is used as a means for social commentary. Kills and gore chew through fleshy characters, but writer Paul Gerstenberger’s survival scenario speaks to human instincts through genre exploitation. You’ll get an open-world safari element that’s all about hunting preserved dead-heads, along with powerful quips meant to explore dealings with grief, guilt and post-war desensitization. It’s nothing Earth-shattering, but director Steve Barker’s zom-dram is vicious enough to support astute observations about zombies and humans being equally despicable creatures. Even with a cheesy “Z” title insertion.
In a post-outbreak world where almost 2 billion people were killed, containment is key. When citizens turned into zombies, a war broke out, but somehow man won. Now, with airtight regulations in place, zombies are a...

Depending on how you look at it, director Steve Barker's The Rezort can be deemed pretty cool or somewhat disappointing, but I'm here to tell you that it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. Being a huge fan of Barker's Nazi zombie flick Outpost and its sequel Outpost: Black Sun, I had high hopes for this one, and I wasn’t let down...too much.
The Rezort has a very promising premise, but it’s never used to its full potential, and the film quickly devolves into your run-of-the-mill – albeit hugely entertaining - zombie/action thriller.

The Rezort is a blend of Jurassic World (2015) with zombie films. A remote park allows zombie safaris, until something goes wrong. The Rezort is slated to show in Edinburgh, Scotland - today. The film will have several showings, this week. And, the film stars: Dougray Scott (Enigma), Jessica De Gouw (These Final Hours), Martin McCann, Elen Rhys, Claire Goose and Jassa Ahluwalia. Several stills, from the film, are available here, along with the official trailer and an effects reel. The story, from writer Paul Gerstenberger, talks of a "controlled zombie safari retreat." After a plague has decimated the world, survivors can pay for the right to hunt the undead. But, these zombies still have a bit of bite. When the security measures go down, these zombie tourists are put on the run, again. A number of stills have been released for the film, recently. They show the island, on which the tourists hunt the undead. Events take a turn for the worse in a control room. Three of the stills are...

I've always said that there simply aren't enough zombie movies in this world. It's such an untapped sub-genre, which is why it's always so exciting when someone comes along and decides to make a movie about those undead biters who just don't get enough love here in the horror genre.
Okay, so I'm of course being completely sarcastic, but if zombies are your thing and you can't get enough of them, read on for details about a new film that looks to put the bite back into Romero's creations!

Principal photography has begun on zombie thriller Generation Z, starring Dougray Scott, Jessica de Gouw and Martin McCann.
Set in the wake of an apocalyptic zombie outbreak, the film centres on Melanie (de Gouw) and her boyfriend Lewis (McCann) who visit a safari retreat - The ReZort - where every paying guest has a licence to kill the undead.

The film, produced by Matador Pictures, The Captain Starlight Company and UMedia, will be shot on location in Wales and on Mallorca, Spain. UMedia International is handling world sales.
The cast is led by Scott, perhaps best known for his role in Mission:Impossible 2, who recently wrapped shooting on Taken 3. Other main cast...
