Featured Waylon Mercy (Dan Spivey) defeating Doink the Clown (Dan Spivey) in what turned out to be Spivey's last-ever match on "Raw." By this point, the Doink gimmick had completely run its course, and Spivey got probably his biggest and best reaction ever, as the crowd buried Doink with the "KILL THE CLOWN! KILL THE CLOWN! KILL THE CLOWN!" chants. Spivey retired in October 1995 due to injuries.
During the Waylon Mercy-Doink match, commentator Vince McMahon talks about Sycho Sid (Sid Eudy), who was a member of commentator "The Million-Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Corporation, and suggests that DiBiase might have been considering adding Mercy to the group. Had Mercy been able to join, it would have marked a reunion of The Skyscrapers, Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey's NWA/WCW tag team from 1989-1990.
In a bit of foreshadowing, Dok Hendrix (Michael Seitz) criticizes Jeff Hardy's ring gear. In 1999, The Hardy Boyz (Matt Hardy and Jeff) received their first proper push as a tag team, having switched to mesh shirts and rave gear, and had Hendrix, who had switched back to his original persona of Michael Hayes, as their manager.
