The perils of mom goggles

I have to admit I was tickled to see an "E.T." episode. And while the reference is kind of an awkward vehicle for introducing Pop-Pop (Paul Sorvino), there's real substance to that story, and it's got the nice "Goldbergs" ending it deserves.

But this easily goes to Barry's short-lived career as a mall supermodel. And those mother-son glamour shots are so wonderfully creepy. Remember George Costanza's inexplicable turn as a hand model? That's pretty much what goes on with Barry, in the funniest sense.

E.T. episode was memberable

Warning: Spoilers
One of my favorite Goldberg's episodes where Adam tries to get Murray and his father to bond. It had many memberable quotes like when pops says after 25 years the man cries at a puppet. Which then Adam replies it's not the puppet, but what the puppet represents we all know E.T. is about an absent father. Then the best line pops says no what movie were you watching all I saw was a magic frog man build a telephone out of a speak and spell. It's that kind of writing which makes this one of the best comedies that doesn't need the laugh track gimmick.

The Most Handsome Boy on the Planet

Warning: Spoilers
I thought the Bev and Barry storyline was a lot of fun, with some great moments.

The Pop-Pop story not so much, it felt very similar to the story arc 'The Middle' did with Mike's dad.

On the whole though the good outweighs the stuff we've seen done better elsewhere.
