A fish shouldn't tangle with a penguin!

Warning: Spoilers
No Bruce Wayne or Selina this week, maybe they've worked as much as the law will allow for the moment. We did get Gordon making a high-stakes gamble to get his job back, dragging his now fully fledged partner into it as well. The tracking down of the Electrocutioner was somewhat contrived, but his use of electric shock to take down his enemies was well handled; I particularly liked Oswald unintentionally frying himself in his rush to get to Falcone and snap the trap on fish. As for Moroni, I'm beginning to think that his name is a clue to his IQ level, this being the second time in as many weeks that he's ignored the Penguin's questionable behaviour. Then again, he didn't get to be a boss by being stupid, so maybe he's just playing a long game. Unlike the show's resident ACTRESS, who rushes into the endgame of her scheme to remove Falcone from the top spot. She shouldn't have underestimated Oswald though, who proves to be her undoing, just as we should have suspected by her being called 'fish'! Gordon's gamble pays off thanks to Moroni being the bait in his trap, I particularly liked how he uses violence and smarts to make the collar in this episode. I'm still not liking Nygma though, even if he did suggest the insulated shoes; his creepiness around Miss Kringle isn't working for me at all. I still think he should have been a slightly lesser rival to young Bruce Wayne in the intelligence stakes, maybe in a different school.

Gone Fishin'

Warning: Spoilers
Well, it's only appropriate that if contrived circumstances put Gordon on duty at Arkham equally contrived ones would get him back on the GCPD. Gordon and Bullock's search for the escaped inmate lacks juice (a brilliant witticism if you've seen the episode... okay, not really, but it makes sense at least) but the schemes of Fish Mooney come to a surprisingly early head as she makes her move against Falcone.

Though Falcone is a mob boss with all the baggage that brings, he's actually a sympathetic character. He's an old school Don who conducts his business with a certain sense of honor, and like anyone in a more standard line of work, he'd seemingly reached a point where he just wanted to get away and enjoy a quitter, simpler life. But the painful revelations here only serve to give Falcone his mojo back, and it looks like AARP can cancel that subscription.

We also see a beautiful monkey wrench thrown into Gordon's love life in the form of Dr. Leslie Thompkins. Though I know enough about Batlore to know it won't, I'd be more than happy to see Dr. Thompkins push the increasingly irritating Barbara out of the picture for good.

Warning: Spoilers
Yes Penguin's Umbrella was an epic episode, but This episode is wicked. Falcon's acting is some commendable. Great Episode.Only thing i couldn't figure out was short screen presence for Barbara. I think that was meant for the ending scene. Eagerly waiting for next Monday.

10 outta 10

GOTHAM!!!!!

Batman will definitely find hard to find his screen space once he appears. i wonder how epic would Joker be.

Just watch it

Interesting character development but some crude storyline
benjamin-ashworth3 February 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This episode mainly rounds up the bizarre subplot of Fish Mooney planting Liza with Falcone, the strange situation of him having a woman around who cooks, cleans and generally nurse maids him without him ever considering she was being made to spy on him. The way this works out follows hot on the heels of The Goat in feeding the nasty fetishes some Gotham forum members seem to have towards attractive young women coming to an unpleasant end at the hands of powerful men.

On the other hand we have a pretty decent villain for once who's based on one from the original Batman stories and, to some extend, we have an insight into what's made him as mad and bad as he is.

We also get to see Barbara's parents and get a bit of background into her past and her psyche. The character is excellently played by Erin Richards and we get to see a young, successful woman who is struggling to find somewhere she can feel safe, secure and loved in the world. She still doesn't seem to do any work for a living though.
