The downside to the now-inoperative Marvel Television was that its offerings were exhaustively inconsistent in quality. Would you get a mature, nuanced examination of topics like systemic corruption, religious faith, and personal trauma like in "Daredevil"? Or would you get a clumsy mashup of "Succession"-style dynasty drama and white savior tropes like in "Iron Fist"? One could never be too sure. But while the lows were especially low, the highs also tended to be higher than the Marvel Cinematic Universe's films.
Funnily enough, that trend has only continued since Marvel Television was restructured and folded into Marvel Studios. The McU's Disney+ shows have been all over the board so far, with the added wrinkle that most of them are woven deeper into the tapestry of the franchise's greater mythology and, as such, are harder for the McU's movies to ignore -- as we saw when "The Marvels" had to...

Kevin Feige has been the mastermind of the MCU for more than 10 years now and has created the most commercially successful franchise in the history of cinema. Creating an interconnected universe over multiple films is an ambitious idea that many have tried and failed. But Feige’s vision and conviction made it possible.
Nelson Peltz criticized the notion of an all-female Marvel film, aimed at The Marvels
While the Infinity Saga was highly successful, the franchise is currently struggling due to incoherent narratives and their focus on quantity over quality. Nelson Peltz recently questioned some of Marvel’s casting choices and Feige’s authority over the franchise. Ironically, Peltz’s daughter has been part of a Marvel show in the past.

Deadpool 3 has its official title: Deadpool & Wolverine. The first teaser trailer for the movie hit the internet during Super Bowl Lviii, giving superhero film fans their first glimpse at the wackiness it will offer.
One of the biggest reveals from the trailer was confirmation of the longstanding rumor that the Time Variance Authority would appear in the movie. The Time Variance Authority (or Tva for short) is the temporal enforcement organization seen in the Disney+ Loki series, which ensures time flows as it should in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Most people assume Deadpool and Wolverine will be tasked with killing rogue variants of live-action Marvel characters who deviated from the Sacred Timeline. However, a new theory by the YouTube channel New Rockstars suggests they’ll be tasked with fixing the lousy writing and plot holes in various live-action Marvel Studios and Fox superhero films.

The first "Fantastic Four" comic book was published in November 1961, although it wasn't until issue #3 that the comics regularly came emblazoned with the superlative declaration "The World's Greatest Comic Magazine!" No one protested. The goal of the Fantastic Four was to tap into the natural enormity of comic book superhero stories: These were larger-than-life characters going on cosmic adventures and doing battle with planet-eating alien demigods. The very bodies of the titular Four were reminiscent of the four elements: One was made of stone, one was made of fire, one had a liquid-like body, and one was invisible like air.
And yet, through the melodramatic opera of their adventures, the Fantastic Four had appealingly banal personal lives. Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman struggled to make their marriage work. The Human Torch and the Thing bickered constantly. The fact that the Human Torch was the Invisible Woman's brother only complicated matters.

In Sam Raimi's 2022 superhero film "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," the titular wizard (Benedict Cumberbatch) was able to skip across multiple dimensions merrily, thanks to the portal-creating superpowers of one America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez). Halfway through the film, Doctor Strange finds himself in a distant dimension, standing in the courtroom of the Illuminati, a superhero team that a parallel version of himself once belonged to. The Illuminati explains to the good Doctor that his alternate self has gone mad and needs to be executed, something they find might be true of the O.G. Doctor Strange as well.
In an orgy of fan service, the Illuminati is made up of alternate Marvel characters culled from the history of Marvel media. Black Bolt (Anson Mount) is from the oft-forgotten TV series "Inhumans." There is an alternate Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch) as she was seen in 2019's "Captain Marvel.

Consider the opening scene from Marvel‘s Eternals. A teenage boy picks up a power drill and switches it on. As the whirring of the motor intensifies, the boy puts the drill to his ear and slowly, methodically. pushes it in.
What? You don’t remember that scene? Probably because it comes not from the 2021 movie Eternals, but from the 2015 television show Eternals. Moreover, it comes from a treatment from writer John Ridley, who had been hired by Marvel to develop the show, which never came to fruition.
Unlike Inhumans, another unpopular Jack Kirby tale about an anti-social group of superpowered weirdos, which was announced as a movie but became a TV series, Eternals began as a television program before it transitioned to a movie. Ever since the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off with 2008's "Iron Man," fans around the world have delighted at seeing some of their favorite comic book characters share the screen with one another in an ever-expanding world. For the most part, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige and the countless writers, directors, actors, and others who've helped shape the MCU have delivered wildly entertaining shows and movies while also staying true to what made the source material so captivating. From classic plotlines to iconic panels to lesser-known characters, the McU's creators have done a stellar job of transposing some of the most beloved elements from the comic books to both the big and small screen.
Still, because of how different comics are from television and film, numerous changes have been made to adapt these larger-than-life characters to a live action medium. Some of these decisions make sense; what may work on...

When Marvel Television, the team that made shows like "Daredevil," "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", and "Inhumans," was disbanded in 2019 and the film executives from Marvel Studios firmly took the reins of the company's promising slate of TV shows about to hit Disney+, the reaction from comic book fans was a sigh of relief. Finally, all Marvel projects would be directly overseen by Kevin Feige and his team, which, given their track record in movies up to that point, should ensure a level of consistent quality across the board.
That was the dream. But that dream died surprisingly quickly.
"WandaVision" started strong and sputtered in its climax. "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" touched on a few interesting ideas, but got too bogged down with things like the "Power Broker." The Tremors 4: The Legend Begins episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? was Written by Cody Hamman, Narrated by Travis Hopson, Edited by Ric Solomon, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
The subterranean creatures known as Graboids are prehistoric life-forms. And the first Tremors movie wasn’t the story of humanity’s first encounter with them. In fact, there was a series of Graboid attacks just one hundred years earlier. Four movies into the Tremors franchise, we got a prequel that took us back to the Old West for a tale of cowboys and monsters. It’s Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (watch it Here) – which turned out to be the least successful installment in the series. We’re going to try to figure out why in this episode of What the F*ck Happened to This Horror Movie!

The Secret Invasion Finale Is One Of The Worst-Reviewed Marvel Things Ever – What The Heck Happened?
Warning: This article contains spoilers and some pretty gruesome post-mortem details on what went wrong with "Secret Invasion."
The numbers are in, the hot takes have been pouring into social media, and the post-finale analysis of "Secret Invasion" can truly begin in earnest. As the smoke clears from this week's finale, which took the Marvel series that felt like most people weren't watching -- and even less were actually enjoying -- and finally put it out of its misery, the big picture is starting to come into focus. Needless to say, it's not exactly putting the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a flattering light, particularly on the heels of high-profile disappointments like "Thor: Love and Thunder" and "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." For the first time in well over a decade, the previously invulnerable MCU is looking mighty mortal these days.
Now, Rotten Tomatoes percentages aren't the end-all, be-all yardstick by...

It wasn't that long ago that Marvel Studios' plan to create a closely interconnected movie and TV universe sounded like poppycock. What if one of the films bombed or nobody tuned in for a particular show? For over a decade, the House of Ideas managed to avoid these roadblocks thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's domination of the box office, coupled with the loose -- and, if we're being honest, almost completely one-sided -- ties between the McU's movies and the live-action series produced under the now-defunct Marvel Television banner. It's why few panicked when ABC's "Inhumans" died on the way back to its home planet or Netflix's "Defenders" shows were casually picked off, slasher-style, in the lead-up to Disney+ launching.
However, now that Marvel has consolidated its movie and TV divisions under one roof, we're beginning to see the drawbacks of this approach. It was often near-impossible to...

This post contains spoilers for "Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness."
In March of 2019, Disney finally sealed a deal to purchase 20th Century Fox for $71.3 billion. While some were wise enough to lament a lack of marketplace diversity and foresee the studio's shuttering of various sub-companies they had bought, fans of superhero cinema focused instead on how the merger would affect the already-huge Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fox owned the film rights to characters like the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, and many fanboys immediately began speculating as to how Wolverine would come to meet Captain America, or how Mr. Fantastic would come to fight Rocket Raccoon.
The Fantastic Four character of Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic, already debuted in the MCU in Sam Raimi's 2022 film "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." While traipsing through a parallel universe, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) met alternate versions of known Marvel characters.

Wakanda Forever has now closed the book on Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the conclusion of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law brought an end to the TV show aspect. While the past few years of Marvel have certainly been overstuffed, the Disney+ shows have acted as an interesting development to this expanded superhero narrative.

Before Disney+ and Kevin Feige brought television series into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" was a fan-favorite network television underdog. Born out of 2012's "The Avengers," the show followed a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents assembled by a newly not-dead Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). Thanks to a strong fanbase, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." survived cancellation multiple times with rallying cries on social media like #CoulsonLives and #SaveAgentsOfSHIELD.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." had a rough start, but then "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" hit theaters, revealing the McU's biggest twist thus far. The Inhumans are one of the most popular and important groups within the Marvel continuity. It seemed like their presence within the Marvel Cinematic Universe was a surefire thing, considering the Mutants were unavailable to Marvel Studios in the early days. A favorite of head honcho Ike Perlmutter, an Inhumans movie was even announced; one of the few projects that the company would never make.
If you paid attention to the most recent San Diego Comic-Con, it would have been very apparent that the Inhumans were once again nowhere in sight. Although neither were the Mutants, who are widely considered to be replacements for the Kree-created characters moving forward. So, is there any kind of future for the royal family and the wider roster to show up once more on screen?

[This story contains spoilers for the Ms. Marvel season finale.]
“The is no normal,” Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) says in the finale of Ms. Marvel. That turns out to be an understatement, as the true extent of her powers is revealed to her in the final minutes of the series.
The six-episode Disney+ series, led by head writer Bisha K. Ali and directing team, Adil & Bilall, made some significant changes to the character’s mythos, while still retaining the core of who Kamala Khan is — “good is not a thing you are. It’s a thing you do.”
Kamala shrugs off the notion of labels at the end of the series, content in the goodness that comes from efforts as New Jersey’s very own superhero. Of course, the reveal that Kamala is in fact a mutant, a surprise jolted by a few notes from the iconic X-Men: The Animated Series theme,...

The season finale of "Ms. Marvel" is packed with big showdowns and equally big revelations, but one of the most important moments of all is hidden away in a single bit of dialogue. Following the finale, the question on everyone's mind is: is Kamala Khan actually a member of the X-Men?
The reveal comes near the end of the finale, after the final battle has wrapped up. Bruno pulls Kamala aside to give her an update that throws a new wrinkle into the mystery behind her powers. He's taken a closer look at her DNA, and while her family connection still plays a role in her access to superpowers, it seems like her particular abilities are linked to something else, which he calls "a mutation." Kamala brushes it off as "just another label," but sharp-eared viewers will recognize the music that plays over his line: the theme music from the '90s animated "X-Men" series.

Ms. Marvel Episode 6
Well, it finally happened! While they didn’t actually say the word “mutant” we now have our first, undeniable, canonical mutant in the MCU, and it’s Kamala Khan. But wait, let’s back up for a moment…
Throughout Ms. Marvel, there have been a series of mysteries surrounding Kamala’s powers. At first, the show wanted us to believe that the bangle was the source of her light-based powers. But then it was revealed that because of Kamala’s ties to the Clandestine, and their connection to the Noor Dimension, that it was her lineage that allowed her to channel that power via the bangle. In other words, Kamala’s powers were inborn to some degree, and the bangle just helped her unlock them. But in the season finale on Disney+, Ms. Marvel episode 6 revealed that there’s something else behind Kamala’s power,...

The following contains major spoilers for the “Ms. Marvel” finale episode. Turn away now if you haven’t seen it.
The season finale of “Ms. Marvel” ended, per Marvel Cinematic Universe tradition, with a post-credits scene setting up a future project.
But as much fun as the brief moment was (and yes we’ll talk about it more below) it was vastly overshadowed by the episode’s final scene proper, which contained a huge reveal so important to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we’re honestly surprised this wasn’t the post-credit scene instead.
Literally, it changes everything for Kamala — even more than learning she’s part-Djinn did — and just as important, also seems to set up how Marvel is going to finally introduce, uh, a flurry of X-related puns into the MCU.

One of the biggest surprises from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was Black Bolt, a character who technically already made his MCU debut. I know we don’t like to talk about it, but like it or not, it did happen. Back when Marvel announced the phase three slate of movies, they mentioned one that was going to be for the Inhumans. And of course, we all know by now that the Inhumans movie never happened. But you know what did happen? That one ABC show that actually had its pilot premiere in theaters. You would think that would

It all started, as many things do, with a simple Tweet. Twitter user @AlexVsPop came up with a fun way to integrate Deadpool and the X-Men into the MCU now that those characters have come together under the Disney umbrella, and the post was soon doing numbers.
“The X-Men should be introduced to the MCU through Deadpool on a laptop clicking and dragging the X-Men from a folder labeled “20th Century Fox” to a folder labeled “Marvel Studios”, and then we just act as if they’ve been there all along without any explanation or backstory,” he wrote on the social media platform this past weekend.

Spoiler Alert: This story discusses major plot points in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” currently playing in theaters. Do not read until you’ve seen the movie.
As an alum of “Community” and “Rick and Morty,” screenwriter Michael Waldron certainly knows outré, genre-hopping science fiction; with “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Waldron found a kindred spirit in director Sam Raimi, who invented outré, genre-hopping horror with his “Evil Dead” trilogy.
Together, Raimi and Waldron have made one of the most distinctive — and, for some, controversial — movies ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To wit (the big spoilers start here): Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) goes full Scarlet Witch and brutally murders anyone who gets in the way of her mission to find a universe in which her sons from the 2021 Disney+ series “WandaVision” are still alive. This article contains major Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness spoilers.
For lovers of Marvel cameos and worldbuilding, the most exciting part of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness came about halfway through, when Strange is taken by Baron Mordo to face the Illuminati. First introduced in 2005’s New Avengers #7 (written by Brian Michael Bendis and penciled by Steve McNiven), the Illuminati consist of the biggest brains of the Marvel Universe. They exist to make difficult decisions about complex problems, such as sending the Hulk off-planet to prevent further destruction or ridding the Earth of a Skrull invasion.
The identities of the MCU Illuminati had been teased in trailers for Multiverse of Madness. but now that we’ve seen the Illuminati in full, we can now begin to imagine how they’ll affect the larger MCU.

Warning: Massive spoilers ahead for “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
We’ve met S.H.I.E.L.D, Hydra and S.W.O.R.D. in the MCU, and now with “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” we’ve met the Illuminati. So, who exactly is in it?
The “Doctor Strange” sequel, now playing exclusively in theaters, introduces us to the secret society on Earth-838. Apparently, they were formed by Strange himself — at least, that universe’s version of him — to quietly keep tabs on things and maintain order in the universe. Among those things was Strange himself, as he revealed he had been dream-walking.
Obviously, the previews gave some hints as to who made up the secret society. Fans immediately caught onto Patrick Stewart’s voice; but he’s not the sole member of the Illuminati. So let’s run it down.

“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is just around the corner, and fans are already having a blast poking fun at the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s continual expansion into comic book lore as an IP-driven franchise. On Twitter, users joked that to fully understand the latest installment, people had to do everything from catching up on ABC’s hit sitcom “Abbott Elementary” to perusing the entirety of the Bible.
The meme format is a variation of the following: “Not gonna spoil anything, but make sure to watch [insert tangentially connected Marvel project or something else entirely here] in preparation for ‘Doctor Strange 2.’”
Some users took the opportunity to promote their favorite movies, like “Paddington 2,” which in and of itself is a meme, after people noticed that the animated fare surpassed “Citizen Kane” to reach an elusive 100 rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Others pointed to unrelated TV series, like Netflix’s smash LGBTQ+ hit “Heartstopper” and the Quinta Brunson-starring “Abbott Elementary.

We got Charlie Cox back as Daredevil, and we got Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin. But would we ever expect Anson Mount to return as Black Bolt? Now that is seriously unexpected. That is if it happens and that’s a very big if. Now why shouldn’t he return? Well, it’s probably because the ABC Inhumans show from 2017 was a massive dud. In fact, that’s putting it lightly. Out of everything Marvel has done in terms of movies and television, Inhumans has got to be its biggest failure. But luckily, Kevin Feige wasn’t attached to that fiasco, so no harm done.

Despite the outside perception that the Marvel Cinematic Universe operates like a well-oiled machine, Marvel Studios has actually experienced quite a few bumps and detours along the way to gaining box office supremacy with their deeply interconnected franchise of movies and shows. The arrival of the Disney+ streaming service (combined with the restructuring of Marvel Studios and cutting out the middleman of Kevin Feige reporting to the "Creative Committee") ushered the MCU into a whole new era of multimedia storytelling, even though Marvel technically produced prior shows for ABC (nobody misses "Inhumans," but Rip "Agent Carter," cancelled far...

It feels as though even if a person were paying attention when The Inhumans debuted, they probably weren’t given enough material to go on to really get a decent look at what the Inhumans could really do and what they were all about four years ago. Geez, has it really been that long already? One would think that the MCU would have found a way to get the Inhumans back on track by now, but then again, there’s been a lot that’s been happening in that time. The upcoming 23rd season of NBC’s Law & Order: Svu will be without two key characters. Jamie Gray Hyder, who plays Officer Kat Tamin, and Demore Barnes, who portrays Deputy Chief Christian Garland, are departing the series, sources tell Deadline. Their exits will be revealed during the two-hour Season 23 premiere on Thursday, September 23. we hear.
Both were introduced in Season 21 as recurring and both were promoted to series regulars for Season 22.
Season 23 picks up mere hours after last season’s finale, where Catalina Machado (Zabryna Guevara) was arrested for trafficking single mothers living in shelters in a complex housing-for-sex scheme. She now wants to flip on her superiors in exchange for a deal with the Feds, and names a powerful congressman as the big fish. It’s a make or break case for the NYPD and puts enormous pressure on the entire Svu squad to get a conviction.

Since making her debut in 2010 with her appearance in Iron Man 2, Black Widow has been a key ingredient of the MCU. I think would appeal to audiences about her was her being the human element, whilst at the same time being able to hold her own. Even though her story differed a lot from her comics counter part I think from beginning to end Black Widow has one of the best, well developed story arcs in the MCU. My only criticism is that her solo movie needed to come much, much sooner. It is massive oversights like that, that make me think the timeline of the MCU wasn’t as well planned out as people said. How did they not capitalise sooner? Between Avengers and Age of Ultron how did no one see Scarlett Johansson playing the Black Widow as marketable? DC beat them to the punch with the excellent first Wonder Woman movie.

One of the few Marvel characters who didn’t get the proper treatment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist. Oh, but you knew that already if you’ve watched the Marvel Netflix shows. The guy said it plenty of times, at it got old very fast. It’s kind of a shame, because that show can be considered Marvel’s first real flop. And what came after that was the Inhumans show and the entertaining, but ultimately underwhelming Defenders show. That show unfortunately got low ratings and my theory is because it came out after the Iron Fist show

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details about Disney+’s upcoming Marvel series WandaVision, kind of.
WandaVision wasn’t supposed to be the first Marvel series on Disney+, and it shows.
Grafted to a premise more suited to the syndicated sitcoms on TV Land than the home of The Mandalorian, the Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany starrer that debuts tomorrow on the streamer is mainly a baby boomer punchline in search of a joke. Which, based on the three episodes that the House of Mouse provided, is another way of saying the Jac Schaeffer created limited series is well within the wheelhouse of the endless set-up of the Kevin Feige-run Marvel Cinematic Universe, and not in a good way.
