Beautiful and moving
grahamhi12 December 2016
I saw this short film at the 2016 i Film Maker International Film Festival in Marbella and was so struck by it's power and beauty. On the face of it, it's about a woman who's going through the tragedy of losing her sight to a terminal illness and the effect this has on her relationship with her husband, but it's really about so much more. Love, devotion, self-sacrifice. I found it very moving. Cédric Maruani and Eliza Calmat give excellent performances in the lead roles and the whole tone of the direction, cinematography and music is beautifully realized. The script, which won Best Screenplay in Marbella for it's writer- director Sabine Crossen, is very clever, subtle and surprising, and the ending is a brilliant coup de cinema. Superb.
