"Easy" is a very effective tale of a young man who struggles between his drug fueled way of life and a chance at having something meaningful. For Easy (the protagonist name being a direct reflection of himself) it's all a matter of having enough drugs to get by and keep the good times rolling. Easy possesses a likable personality and proves to be a good person despite his addictions. When he meets a young single mother, Easy has the opportunity to change his ways, yet this might prove far more difficult than he would like to. Commitment to his drugs or commitment to change his life for good? Easy has to make his choice.
The short is effectively shot and perfectly cast, with its lead actor proving to be a likable presence who endears us to him, making a character that could be seen by some as a low-life, become someone that we hope can clean his act and move on to better things. The soundtrack is absolutely pulse-pounding and the performances by all involved are spot-on, not a single false note.
