Great fun from start to finish. With Beautiful dialogue driving a clever, current story. O' Daddy Dear is a comedy containing gag after gag but still manages to drive on the story. the relationships between the characters are funny but also truthful. The layout created by Ray Lamb is simple and very effective in its effort to tell the story following the format of a beginning a middle and an end which is clearly conveyed throughout. This short is oozing with phrases and slang words native to Ireland that color each scene. You cant wait to hear what comes out of The protagonist, Neely Dunne's, big mouth. The ending is a wonderful conclusion to this little story and, in my opinion, one cannot help but feel good after viewing.

Hilarious New Irish Comedy

O'Daddy Dear is proof that good things come in small packages. At just 18 minutes long this short film packs in more laughs, jokes, visual gags and funny moments than some full length comedy movies I've seen. I won't spoil the plot of O'Daddy Dear but I will say that the comedy isn't a distraction from the storyline but is rather an integral part of it. the best example of this would be the character development of the main character Neely Dunne, he in introduced as a naive but good hearted everyman and during the course of the film he becomes a lot more worldly and clued in to whats going on around him but without having to lose any of his natural good heartedness along the way. Anyone who is a fan of either 'Fawlty Towers' or 'Father Ted' should enjoy this film. Made with a very low budget O'Daddy Dear is nevertheless a highly professional production with a lot of quality on display from the acting, the music, the script, in fact the whole production. There is lot of obvious potential for O'Daddy Dear to be expanded into either a full length feature or a television series and I for one would love to see it happen.
