Who Are These People?
Prismark1030 March 2016
The first episode of You, Me and the Apocalypse has an intriguing set up but maybe never clicks has a dark comedy yet.

The setting is Slough, America and the Vatican with people who we know are somehow going to be connected. Well we see them huddled in a basement in Slough to watch the end of the world on television.

At the moment we have an ordinary guy, Jamie (Matthew Baynton) a bank manager accused of being some kind of cyber terrorist/agitator. He is shown a picture by the police of someone who they want. The person looks like him and he is with his missing wife.

Sister Celine who has had a meeting from the priest from hell (Rob Lowe) who is on the lookout for the Antichrist and a new inmate in a US prison, Rhonda who has taken the blame for a hacking crime and is befriended by a a white supremacist.

When the US President announces to the world that in 34 days time an asteroid, 8 miles wide, will hit the earth and cause possible extinction, all hell breaks loose including the cyber terrorist Ariel (Also Matthew Baynton) arrives at the US prison to retrieve Rhonda.

The ingredients are that that this could be good but I felt the humour was not there in the first episode and Rob Lowe showed enough star wattage.
