Its a Disney's sci-fi-magical tale.
Reno-Rangan23 May 2016
This is summer holiday and I saw quite a few preteen films like this with my niece. Since we watched the first two seasons of 'Girl Meets World' together, I think she likes Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter. So that's how we found this Disney's television film, which was adapted from the book of the same name. I expected it to be fun like that television series and yes, my niece loved it, but to me it was an average.

Usually Disney means magical tales, but it was an sci-fi-magical. Well, it was the story of a teen girl Cleo, who is a bright student, but unnoticed on the school campus. On the other side, her big sister Molly is a very popular who becomes invisible when Cleo's science project goes wrong. So the tale begins to revolve that particular day, which is very important for Molly that decides her future. Both the sisters join hands to tackle the day and to find the solution to undo the invisibility.

This is a children's film, especially for the girls. But if you grew up in the 80s and the 90s, probably you would have seen better films in this theme. It was too short, but that's a good thing than the 90 minute torture. Anyway the film was not bad, only the way you look at it makes to have a different opinion.

It was just a fun holiday film aimed for kids, but I had my reason for watching it. That doesn't mean it won't suit adults. I was surprised by the quality of the graphics used in it, especially for a television film, it is a very standard which were obviously very rare sequences. The production quality alone makes it worth to have a look. It was not like our days, in the todays world everything's so easy.

From the Director 0f Zombies and the writer of Liv and Maddie comes this decent flick
lisafordeay19 October 2020
The Invisible Sister is a 2015 fantasy starring Rowan Blanchard and Paris Beric. It tells the tale of two sisters one is popular, the other isn't. But when the youngest sister Cleo(Blanchard) accidentally does a science project on invisibility, she accidentally makes her eldest popular sister Molly(Beric) Invisible.

But will Cleo find an antidote to bring her sister back within 24 hours. Overall I found it enjoyable .

Reminiscent of The Absent Minded Professor
bkoganbing9 October 2015
The latest use that the Disney Studios has made of its teen stars is with Rowan Blanchard as the shy and retiring younger sister of Paris Bereic who's as popular as Blanchard is shy. In fact Blanchard's only real friend is fellow science geek Karan Brar.

Blanchard's smart though and she accidentally gets the secret of invisibility and unfortunately turns her sister invisible. That's not good because among other things Bereic has to compete in a high school Lacrosse tournament for a scholarship.

Both sisters get a handle on that one with scenes reminiscent of Disney's The Absent Minded Professor when Fred MacMurray's discovery of Flubber turns his hapless college basketball team into winners.

It was interesting to hear Karan Brar perform without accent. Though he's of Indian ancestry he was raised in the USA and in both Jessie and Bunk'd Brar takes on the Indian speech pattern.

Invisible Sister is an enjoyable teen comedy from The Magic Kingdom and at least while Blanchard and Brar operate under a deadline at least she wasn't faced with going insane like poor Claude Rains was.

I'm the cowardly bear

Warning: Spoilers
Molly (Paris Berelc) and Cleo (Rowan Blanchard) are sisters. Molly is athletic and loved by everyone. Cleo is super smart and stays distant from Molly and her friends in spite of them offering Cleo to come along. The story is about sister relationships who are both thin and good looking with hunks who like them. Not too much real agony. While doing a science project the smart one accidentally turns her sister invisible with the resultant Disney consequences.

When the parents go away the popular sister throws a party that has no alcohol, drugs, or sex. Heck there was even no one making out. Bad example to have the party, good example of a party.

Personally I liked "Girl vs Monster" or "How to Build a Better Boy" better. This one is for the young teen or pre-teen group, especially the young ladies.

Not Disney Channel's Best Work
koltonbrett19 January 2022
Here is one of Disney Channel's lower quality Halloween movies. The same audience that enjoyed Girl vs. Monster will also enjoy this one. This movie is about two invisible sisters, one metaphorically and the other literally. But what isn't so invisible are the flaws. Through much of the film the actors seem to forget that they're not supposed to be able to see the invisible person they are talking to. Often they are looking right in her eyes as she is speaking to them. This is just one example of how it comes across that not a lot of attention was given to detail. This movie felt more like a really long Disney sitcom episode than a movie. The setting is Louisiana during Halloween but it doesn't feel much like either. Things don't get the slightest bit spooky till close to the very end.

Another nice Disney movie
jonathanrspalding12 October 2015
In ten years this will join the list of forgotten Disney titles and this review will only by seen by those checking the credits for one of the actors. (My bet is Ms. Berlac, but Rowan may have a career as well). However, that being said this was another well written and acted DCOM. 2015 has been a stellar year for the DCOM's and Disney deserves credit for producing four good movie this year. The failing of many DCOMs or any youth targeted TV movie is that they are slapped together without style or character development and the acting of the minor characters is usually not a concern. This was well acted and written with subtle tones to the characters that made it enjoyable. Paris carried the movie and it also showed that Krar is a better actor than the drivel he was given in Jesse and now even worse in Bunkd. Even the science teacher has some dimension to him. The only problem I had with the movie was the question of why her invisibility had to be a secret, since no one had done anything wrong or illegal and there was no reason for it to be. Of course, that would have killed about 3/5 of the movie so that is probably the reason.

Certainly, as with most DCOMs there is only so good it can be. However, these kids seem like kids I know as opposed to a lot of the characters in these movies. Hence, I recommend this movie as a good use of an hour and one half. So, when Disney drags this out around Halloween in 2020, you should watch it.

We love...
RosanaBotafogo23 April 2023
Teenager Cleo's school science project goes quite awry, causing her popular older sister Molly to go invisible. Cleo is a student whose science project mistakenly makes her older sister Molly invisible.

Definitely liking or not a movie depends more on our state of mind than the movie itself, totally freaked out, extremely exaggerated, completely absurd, I'm totally delivered captivated... Incredible the power of standardizing various iconic situations and daydreams swallowing as something normal and commonplace, discovered by teenagers, almost children, one sister replacing the other as if they were twins, among other absurdities and the like of Disney movies... We love...

The usual trash from Disney Channel
JakeBrinkman1 December 2019
This movie is horrendous trash, which is exactly what is expected from Disney Channel. It has the standard Disney acting, which means it's either emotionless or awkwardly forced emotions that are far too awkward or over-the-top for the scene. Cinematography is the expected cookie cutter camera angles and lighting, and the music is uninspired and only mildly appropriate. It's a standard Disney Channel movie, which means you should hard pass.

As expected from Disney Channel, the plot is utterly absurd when you apply even a modicum of logic. The explanation behind why her clothes turn invisible is so convoluted and inconsistent that it would have been much less confusing if they had just paused the movie and showed a black card that said, "Things turn invisible by touching her whenever it is convenient for the story." They also randomly switch how the invisibility works halfway through the movie. In the first half, throwing things on her (water, mud, etc) shows the item outlining her. In the second half, it makes her body fully appear as an ethereal ghost, probably due to complaints from the actress not getting enough screentime rather than supporting the film. It would have been literally impossible for the girls to fake being each other, especially during the lacrosse game (during which she was extremely offsides and her point should not have counted). The timer at the end was ridiculous. It's either spread and affecting the areas or it hasn't reached the areas yet. Your body doesn't instantly spread something over your entire system at an exact time after you consume it. It spreads slowly, so some areas should definitely have already been affected.

What Were They Thinking?!
The_Weirdling5 November 2020
I give Disney a lot of leeway with their made for tv films. They are going for a very specific (and frankly important) niche. Preteen girls need to have their voice echoed on screens and Disney is one of the very few companies that makes a concerted effort in that area. That niche comes with certain freedoms, but it also binds their hands in important ways as well. I get that. And I allow for that.

Even with me cutting them slack, this was a pretty poor effort on their part. The chose to tell a science based story, but the script seems written by that high school kid who hated science, never bothered to understand it, and assumed you didn't either. The rules for the sister's invisibility make absolutely no sense. They are in consistently applied to the point of distraction. The entire course of action by the sisters after one of them turns invisible makes absolutely no sense. course of action by the sisters after one of them turns invisible makes absolutely no sense. Their priorities are so warped my 11-year-old was utterly befuddled. Every drop of drama and tension in the script was contrived and unnecessary. Even the Disney homebase, passionate heart melting speeches about the importance of sisterhood and friendship, fell like dead fish from the mouths of the poor actresses who were forced by the Disney machine to be in this movie.

In short, this whole movie was one long wtf?!?!

trikinawel11 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
First of all this movie was great like other Disney movies it has good role models Cleo and Mollee are sisters when Mollee accidentally drink the invisibility potion ans she became invisible Cloe tried to pretend to be her and do what her sister does even if she can't and even when her sister was invisible she is always by her side to help her that was the greatest thing about this movie it was also very emotional especially when Cleo apologizes to Mollee when she can't see her or hear her voice anymore i cried during this scene i gave it 9/10 because sometime Molle can be seen holding Cleo like if she wasn't invisible but anyway i liked this movie and i hope you all will enjoy it .

Really Good
Rowan is awesome in the movie. Paris did her best in Invisible Sister. I want she it on DVD when the movie comes out. Its really rare that Disney Channel puts out a Halloween movie. This is the 2nd best Halloween beside the HalloweenTown series movie. Rowan as Cleo is very shy girl that wants to fit in Paris Berelc a very popular teen high school girl. This is connection between Sister this is Disney Channel version of Frozen.

Amazing
cheekychubbs7 February 2020
I thought this was a beautiful story of sisterhood and friendship. As per the norm with these types of Disney movies the lessons we learn and the characters we meet along the way are much more important than the final destination #visible#sisterhood
