just awful

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is so ridiculous there's no avoiding a negative review. For starters the writer, no longer the character's creator, has apparently never heard of Caller ID. Our heroes run around after an armed and dangerous killer, without any themselves, hide the person he's sworn to kill in a hotel never looking to see if anyone's watching them, and don't bother to block an exit so he can just drive off, but always seem to get evidence crucial to keeping the plot moving just in the nick of time. The worst part is that he felt it necessary to make a social statement by hinging the plot on fear of revealing homosexuality. And, of course, there's a lot of remorse. This is a great example of the worst of British TV. Pretty dramatic scenery tho.

Horrible Police Work

I have to agree with much a previous reviewer brought up, though I don't think it deserves only one star. These people are so terribly careless. What they do just keeps the pot boiling. They never use adequate backup or block exits, so people are able to evade them and drive away. The tracing of phone calls is ludicrous. The putting your life in the hands of a paid murderer. What a cliche. Banks walks out and confronts a guy with a gun. There were twenty people standing around and he had no hostage. Duh! I'll just walk up and take your gun! There are also a couple red herrings along the way. I could go on. Not one of the best.

These cops are SO inept and stupid....

Warning: Spoilers
....they make Boss Hog and his nephew Hughie look like Hercules Poirot! Watching this show is actually intellectually painful.

So you put a man and his daughter in hiding for their protection against a killer who you KNOW is armed and dangerous and you "protect" them with TWO unarmed officers in a cheap hotel room? And then when the killer tracks them down (easily) by following the pizza delivery boyfriend and gets them in his sights, he decides not to shoot them just because the one with the nice teats asks him not to?

This is just lazy writing and absolutely HORRIBLE story-telling. Ridiculous to the point of absurdity.

A completely horrid episode in a series that should have never gone past the pilot episode. Don't waste your time on this garbage.....
