A placebo for trailer junkies
voyou-703-6553504 January 2016
What do you do if you want to show off your CGI skills but are too dumb to write a short story, with a beginning, an end, and a couple of frames slim enough to fit in-between? What every other jobber is doing these days: stop at the beginning.

In other jobs it's called a portfolio. It would be fine if it was presented as such, or stayed in the pro circles, but many of them are wasting the public's time by pretending to be shorts. Dick move.

So, no story. Also, bad pacing, ridiculous slow-mo, bad acting, mediocre editing... Like the millions of similar would-be trailers crammed in the Internet, this one has good camera work, good photography and good SFX. Hurrah... another competent technician ready to join the ranks.

An Empty Glass

There is nothing explained in this little film. Half of it is a jet powered vehicle zooming out in the desert, driven by a woman. Then some bad things happen. Who are these aliens? Where did she go? What happened at the end? Just not worth the five minutes.

CGI

What a f...k ! Can be the only reasonable reaction after its end. Because, except CGI, nothing. With indulgence, you can say than it is a sketch, provocking the public to create a story starting from few pieces. Or something as a film about friendship, experiments, time travel, aliens and a red rock. But the end is just confuse. It can be a trailer. But , obvious, not a short film. Or, only a homework, proposing good cinematography, a fist of actors an explosion and a futuristic ship in a glass box. But, nothing real significant, in fact.

It's a commercial

The whole short film felt like a commercial for the latest version of a quasi-luxury car, cornering on curvy roads with beautiful to semi-beautiful people involved somehow. You drive and you go nowhere, but if you buy our car, you'll be cool...ish.
