At his July 21 concert in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jason Aldean reflected on the backlash to his new single, “Try That in a Small Town.”
The country star addressed the controversy around the song and its music video, which many have accused of having racist lyrics and imagery. There were also claims that the track was pro-violence and a “modern lynching song.”
“Try That in a Small Town” is a challenge to those who “carjack an old lady at a red light,” “pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store” or “cuss out a cop.” He told the audience to try that in a small town and “see how far ya make it down the road/ Around here, we take care of our own.”
He said, “What I am is a proud American. I’m proud to be from here. I love our country. I want to see it restored...

Barbiecore is the trend of summer 2023, and for good reason. We’ve all fallen in love with Margot Robbie, Issa Rae, Dua Lipa and the rest of the long list of Barbies in Greta Gerwig’s soon-to-premiere film. They’ve all been seen rocking pink looks on the red carpet (and in film snippets), but they’re not the only ones.
Plenty of celebs have hopped aboard the bandwagon and have been showing their love of magenta hues on beaches, runways, press events and out in the wild. You’ve probably already been influenced to add some rosy pieces to your wardrobe, but if you don’t know where to find cute styles on a budget, we’ve got you covered with these Amazon Canada finds.
Here are our favourite Barbiecore pieces from Amazon Canada.

Brothers Osborne throw a quarantine-safe party that’s part Tron and part Día de Muertos in the colorful new video for “All Night.” The song appears on the CMA- and ACM-winning duo’s upcoming third studio album Skeletons, out October 9th.
Directors Wes Edwards and Ryan Silver, who filmed Brothers Osborne’s Point Break-indebted “It Ain’t My Fault” video, collaborated with the duo on the new clip and came up with something that’s very 2020. The opening scenes will look intimately familiar to many people — day...

The makers released the trailer of Emraan Hashmi-starrer Harami. In the trailer, we see a group of orphaned teenage thieves who pick pockets for a living. They are led by an English-speaking crime lord, played by Emraan Hashmi.
One day, one of the teenage boys steals money from a middle-class man, who commits suicide after being robbed. The teenage boy then meets the daughter of the man he had robbed and has a change of heart. Seeking for redemption, he sets on a journey to correct things.
Harami is a hard-hitting, visually striking street saga of youth crime and broken destinies, love and redemption, played out against the vibrant backdrop of chaotic and relentless Mumbai.

I have been saying for a while now that the British independent film scene is ablaze with a plethora of talent… A veritable smorgasbord of directors, actors, DOPs, writers and producers are currently cutting their teeth out there as streaming and VOD make it way more accessible for us as viewers to find these works. Which has meant the creators are finding smarter ways of utilizing what they have at their disposal and how to make a small budget movie look like it belongs on the cinema wall along side whatever multi-hundred million dollar blockbuster is currently showing and you know whats happening? They are proving that they have way more style and so much more substance. It’s a damn good time to be a fan of British indie cinema.
