Sex & Nudity

  • There is no sex depicted, and no nudity or skimpy attire. A man's use of a prostitute is discussed, mostly politely; there is one short vulgar description of a sex act. Other than that, romantic or sexual relations are not part of this film.

Violence & Gore

  • A woman's death by serious injuries begets the story; whether by accident or by murder is to be learned. The event isn't seen, and isn't described in detail.
  • A character attempts suicide; we only see a person lying in a tub with a belt around the neck; the scene isn't gross.
  • There are threats and several angry confrontations, but no blows are actually struck: some shoving, a failed attempt to slap, and a vehicle is struck with a tire iron.
  • A doctor treats a couple of patients whose open wounds are unsightly but not gory.

Profanity

  • As English subtitled, one instance of "slut" (Fr.: "salope"), one of "sucking off". Nothing else.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The lead character smokes a cigarette 3 or 4 times. Alcohol is seen briefly during a toast.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A couple of physical confrontations are intense and might scare the youngest viewers. Overall, the movie is low-key to the point of being realistic.
