They Live's Sights and Sounds
Watch, Look, Listen: The Sights & Sounds of They Live (2012)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
Cinematographer Gary B. Kibbe, stunt coordinator Jeff Imada and composers John Carpenter and Alan Howarth are interviewed in this 11-minute piece that can be found on the Special Edition of THEY LIVE. The featurette starts off with Kibbe talking about his working relationship with Carpenter up to the point where he was hired from this. Imada not only talks about staging the epic fight sequence in the film but also how he ended up playing most of the ghouls in the film. Finally Carpenter talks about his style of music and what he did to set up the score here and then hand it off to Howarth who added his own spin to it. If you're a fan of THEY LIVE then you'll certainly enjoy this featurette, which contains quite a bit of good information as well as some fun behind-the-scenes stories. At just 11-minutes there's not too much here as I'm sure each of the interviewees could have told a lot more but what stories are told are fun and interesting.
