Natalie Portman and Lily-Rose Depp play sisters. Natalie is 34 and Lily-Rose is 16.
The character of André Korben is inspired by the real french film producer Bernard Natan, who was born in Romania and bought the famous film company Pathé in 1929. He suffered from the antisemitism of the french society of the time and was wrongly accused (as it is shown in the film) of having shot pornographic movies as an actor. After Pathé went bankrupt in 1935, Natan was indicted on charges of fraud and imprisoned. He was then convicted in 1941 and his french citizenship taken away. After that he was transferred in 1942 to the camp of Drancy and deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau where he would die.
Although all of these traits are shared by the character of André Korben, it is to be noted that the passion for supernatural and spirits belong only to the fictional character, as it is not documented that Bernard Natan shared those interests at all.
Natalie Portman shows her bare bottom and bare back, even though she said she would never do nudity again after Hotel Chevalier (2007).
