The TV troupe visiting Raimondo is of the really existing show
Chi l'ha visto? (1989), which focuses on finding useful information about missing people. As of 2020 the show is still aired. The broadcaster producing the show is the state-owned RAI, which is the main competitor of Mediaset, which produces Casa Vianello. When the troupe comes to Raimondo stating that they come from RAI, he answers: "Well, I work for Canale 5". In 1982
Raimondo Vianello was among the first TV personalities to leave RAI to join private-owned Canale 5, together with some other historical TV personalities including his wife
Sandra Mondaini,
Corrado Mantoni and
Mike Bongiorno. This was one of the first private nationwide broadcasters in Italy, founded by then Italian prime minister
Silvio Berlusconi which still owns it as of 2020 together with Rete 4 and Italia 1 (which he both bought in 1984, forming the Mediaset TV group).
Raimondo Vianello and
Sandra Mondaini worked then for Canale 5 up to their retirement in 2008. Only exception was represented by Raimondo presenting the
Festival di Sanremo (1951) in 1998, an event broadcast by RAI.
