Nice crime thriller with action, drama, suspense and a deep friendship between two protagonists
ma-cortes1 December 2019
The film deals with an expert robber , Alain Hernandez, with blowtorch called Victor who is contracted by a band of the Russian mob to carry out a bank robbery. The objective is the Swiss Credit Bank, to take the huge amount around 3o.ooo.ooo Euros guarded at the safebox . Meanwhile, Victor receives the usual visits of Helena : Alba Galocha, a beautiful young who works for the Russian mob as a stripper at a night club. But the plan goes wrong after knowing the driver for the assault is Rapido : Javier Gutierrez, a druggie friend of the starring and a lieutenant , Police Inspector Luis Tosar goes after the criminal gang formed by the nasty Russian mobsters.

Good thriller with a lot of twists, turns, violence, blooshed, pulse-quickening action scenes, some cliches and a suspenseful final . As twists create its genre framework, as we learn suddenly the true identity of the starring and a moving bank assault . But is overall a pretty solid film, a fine filmmaking for thriller genre with a conscience and exceptionally fine camerawork. Nice acting by Alain Hernandez as the expert delinquent with dark secrets . Special mention for Javier Gutierrez as a troublesome junkie and his long-life friend as well as accomplice in their times as juvenile crooks. They are well accompanied by a good support cast, such as Luis Tosar, Iztiar Atienza and Alba Galocha.

It contains an adequate and atmospheric cinematogaphy, being shot on location in Bilbao. And thrilling and exciting musical score by Pascal Gaigne, considered to be one of the best Spanish composers who has composed sensitive soundtracks for The Giant, Then endless trench, The olive tree, Katmandu, Verbo, We are pregnant, The lighthouse of whales. The picture was decent and professionally directed by Iñaki Dorrondoro, though it has some failures . He has written and directed a few films as the unknown : El Ojo Del Fotografo and La Distancia with Miguel Angel Silvestre, Jose Coronado, Federico Luppi. The film achieved various nominations and prizes as Malaga Festival Silver Biznaga to best music, Pascal Gaigne, and nominee best director, Iñaki Dorronsoro. And IFMCA , International Music Critics, nominee to best music, Pascal Gaigne. Rating 6/10. Acceptable and passable thriller.

Simple plan

Or maybe not. But this is a spanish thriller and you can expect it to have quite some twists and turns. Especially if you haven't read anything about the plot or descriptions of others, who may describe certain things and characters. But I won't dwell on that, just in case you want to experience the movie and its story like I did.

If not you obviously have read up on things. And while this may not be the best thriller to come out of Spain, it still is quite nice. The acting and stunts are really good, the suspense is good enough. But you have to stick with it at times. Also be aware that there is some nudity in it. Also moral issues should not matter - see our lead. Might not be the most likeable and surely has his flaws ...

a hidden plan

I enjoyed the movie . Has good plot, acting . Has some violence but not overblown .

As the story line says it involves two life friends, one on the right side of the law and one on the wrong side and behind that is a undercover police work and a robbery.

Regular, slow start, if you have enough patience, you will enjoy an excellent ending...

Víctor, a professional thief and blowtorch specialist, is recruited, along with other experienced criminal professionals, by the Russian mafia to break into a safe in a complicated bank robbery, slow development, takes action only in the final minutes of the film.. .

I created a greater expectation because of having read some reviews of the film, laudatory, but more of the same, however waiting for the outcome, sometimes said as a differential, let's go, waiting, without a doubt, the final 20 minutes were worth more than the whole rest of the film, tense and intense as any bank robbery should be... Regular, slow start, if you have enough patience, you will enjoy an excellent ending...
