The story of the early days of The Beatles, from early incarnations of the band to their final, legendary line-up, their first hit and their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Interesting documentary, covering the least-known part of The Beatles' history. However, while least-known, unless you know absolutely nothing about The Beatles much of the history will still be familiar to most music followers. Some of the interviews are insightful but many are of the cheerleading type, just saying how great they are.
Worst of all, there's no music, no Beatles or any of their pictured influences (e.g. Chuck Berry). Clearly the producers couldn't afford / couldn't be bothered to get the rights to broadcast any of the actual music, so we're stuck with a bland, generic soundtrack. Who makes a documentary on a band and doesn't include their music?
