The experience of watching "You Were Here" is so immersive and all-encompassing, I cannot imagine a more apt title for this gem of a documentary which provides a window to a world that I knew very little of yet came away feeling as though I were actually there. Ironically, the space (aka, Death by Audio) is totally without windows, but we as viewers become privy to this bohemian playground as a fly on the wall, where musicians and artists bare their souls and express their passion as though there would be no tomorrow. The music is loud, raw and gritty, and reflects a spirit of creativity and camaraderie in a microcosm that all-to-sadly no longer exists. Like a song that lingers in the memory long after the final notes are struck, "You Were Here" will make you long for a time gone by.
