Sex & Nudity

  • Slightly exaggerated review as their are two quick clips of no more than 5 seconds of a woman with top showing little cleavage.

Violence & Gore

  • There are moderate scenes of violence throughout. This is including both monsters and humans.
  • There are many deaths, some implied as large parts of cites are destroyed, but all lack blood or gore.
  • A man is electrocuted and passes out.
  • Several monsters fight each other in several scenes throughout the film, which sometimes includes humans participating as well with plans and bombs. Biting, scratching, punching and per the trailer, Kong has an ax now and uses it.
  • People run from monsters and some people are attacked by monsters and killed.
  • A few people are held at gunpoint and threatened.
  • Godzilla dislocates Kongs shoulder, the arm can be heard cracking and breaking.
  • Kong eats a handful of fish, blood is shown on his teeth.
  • Godzilla slashes Kong's chest repeatedly you can see the numerous non-bloody scars as he does it to Kong.
  • Kong stabs Godzilla in the leg with his axe leaving a bloody wound, Kong later punches Godzilla's stab wound causing Godzilla to roar out in pain.
  • Warbats' attack Kong and one knocks a flying vehicle out of the sky, Kong fights the creatures and one wraps its long tail and large wing around him until it is shot by someone in a flying vehicle and it releases Kong; Kong then slams it to the ground, pounds on it and tears its head off (we see slimy goo and tendrils as Kong eats from the creature's head).
  • Some blood, a character has blood on his mouth and is injured in a pile of rubble, godzilla and kong mash ups are big and cause injuries, there is one scene were a creature is killed and a bunch of green blood comes slamming on a window

Profanity

  • A single brief use of "fuck" (heard with action happening on-screen) and also infrequent uses of the word "shit."
  • God's/Jesus's name misused about 4 times, mostly towards the end of the movie
  • 5 uses of "shit" 6 uses of oh my god, 4 uses of "hell", etcl. 2 uses of oh god 1 use of bitch, bastard, fuck, oh my goodness and damn

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A main character carries around a flask of gin with him, referencing it a few times, threatening to drink it all
  • A main character celebrates an achievement with a drink (scotch?)

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are a few jump-scares.
  • Some emotionally intense moments.
  • The destruction of part of cites and large building a is fairly intense.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Monsters attack Kong and one attempts to strangle him, but fails when attacked with missiles. It is then beaten repeatedly by Kong as he tears the monster's head off, showing some green blood. Kong eats the brains after. Somewhat disturbing.
  • Mechagodzilla kills a skullcrawler by vertically cutting it in half with it's photon beam, afterward it's green blood oozes out of both halves of it's body.
  • A crab like creature gets eaten by a large lizard

Profanity

  • Walter Simmons says "oh shit" before getting smashed away by Mechagodzilla after it woke up

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Mechagodzilla's appearance can be a little scary for young ones
  • Fans of Kong may find the film distressing in parts, especially young children. Godzilla essentially kills Kong, winning the fight, and without the human characters intervention, Kong wouldn't have gotten back up. Some younger children may find this distressing, the sounds Kong makes and the sad look on his face is very upsetting.
  • Hong Kong and millions of people were brutally, and violently destroyed in an epic apocalyptic event.
  • Godzilla's laugh & smile may be frightening to some younger viewers.
