Roads & bridges require a great deal of sand to build- which is quickly becoming a real threat worldwide. We ALL are losing sand and shoreline due to overuse for the purpose of building stuff (roads, bridges, buildings ect).
I would like to have seen the filmmaker touch on the shortage of sand -it is now a black market enterprise. It operates like the mafia, complete with murders or whatever it takes.
Some countries have started taking the sand from the ocean floor and killing off the habitat and all that depends on it.
I appreciate the trucking industry, but we must find a better solution in fixing our infrastructure.
