When the title of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 Episode 8 was revealed to be "The Last Day," many doubtless assumed that it referred to the last day of Earth and that the story would revolve around the truth of its destruction.
That turned out to not be the case. Instead, the title turned out to have more personal relevance, with the end of the world simultaneously and oddly paradoxically both irrelevant and essential to that.
Robin's scattered mind and thought processes added a dramatic and believable frustration to the protagonists as they attempted to extract vital information from her.
The viewers got to see bits and pieces of the alternate past through her flashbacks peppered through the episode but received tantalizingly few concrete answers, much like Team Coulson.

Andrew takes a nerdy dive into the pop culture real and fictional that's made its way into the world of Red Dwarf...
Creating culture within science-fiction can be tricky. It’s potentially alienating, with the audience required to understand allusions without a reference point. Then again, if you throw in too many contemporary references, the future starts to look dated pretty quickly. Red Dwarf has walked that fine line, building its own stars and entertainment but chucking in the familiar, just to keep the world grounded. We take a look at humanity’s future culture as seen through the eyes of Lister, Rimmer, Cat, Kryten and Holly.

Doing improv, for the most part, is fun. Turns out, doing improv for an entire week — hosting a fake talk show that’s also a metaphor for the stages of grief — is worthy of an Emmy nomination.
Beyond the unconventional story setup, “The Earliest Show” was a unique challenge for seasoned improv veterans Lauren Lapkus and Ben Schwartz. In the Funny or Die web series, they play the co-hosts of a morning show where emotions run high, interviews run weird, and everything goes back to how funny a breakup can be in a different context.
What ultimately became a six-episode run came out of a week of shooting based on a story outline by Schwartz, who also directed the series. Playing the lovesick Josh Bath, Schwartz also got the chance to take the character through the aftermath of a failed marriage proposal. When Captain Crunch and Funny or Die came...

After Nearly 46 Hours, Trump Breaks Longest Twitter Silence of His Presidency to Slam ‘Leaker’ Comey
Here’s a telling sign that the storm over FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee took its toll on President Donald Trump: He went Mia on Twitter for nearly 46 hours, the longest social-media silence since his inauguration on January 20. Thursday also marked only the second day since Trump entered the White House that he did not issue a single tweet. The last day that happened? April 15 — the Saturday before Easter when Trump spent the weekend in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, and Trump opponents in cities across the country used Tax Day as an excuse to protest.

It's impossible to talk about Free Fire without talking about guns. Apart from a plethora of pithy one-liners from the cast -- which includes Armie Hammer, Brie Larson, Cillian Murphy and Sharlto Copley -- that is essentially what Free Fire is. Hell, the tagline on the poster is even, "All guns. No control." The plot of the '70s-set action flick (out now) revolves around a gun deal gone south, with each player trying to shoot their way out alive over two hours of bullet-blazing mayhem. Et sat down with both Copley and Hammer at the film's press day to talk leading man status, going method and glorifying guns in movies.
"There's not a lot of people in the movie and everybody is shooting at somebody. So, there wasn't a single day that you were going to work where you weren't getting shot at or blown up or something," Hammer said of the shoot. "It was all...
