A cars ECU has absolutely nothing to do with the geospatial positioning of a vehicle. It is an engine management component. It is a controller that manages input from numerous sensors and adjusts things such as fuel/air mix, timing, transmission data, among other functions. When the team break into the evidence room they choose to take Kalashnikov style rifles, whilst leaving several FN SCAR and Steyr AUG rifles, even though the FN and Steyr rifles are shorter, lighter, have less recoil and are far better choices for close quarters fighting. The FN and Steyr rifles also fire standard NATO 5.56mm ammunition which is far more common in the US than the Kalashnikov 7.62 X 39 cartridge.
