A mix between Stephen King and Shaun of the Dead. Good acting, good script, and good, direction, leads this film to hit in every possible spot. Massive fight scenes. The goriness level was up there. A lot of jump scares! The war scenes are violent. It is SUPER funny and pokes fun at the the current news and politics. Which was fun! The 3-D level was stunning. What really made the movie's cinematography stunning was the color. If the scene is depressing, the shot becomes dark, when it's a positive theme everything in bright. Now, I think that most child actors aren't the best. But, the 2 kids are really good. Brendan Egan and his co-star. The fight scenes were entertaining between James (Brendan Egan) and the villain. There were some OK actors in there too, but I didn't mind that too much. Now, like I said, there is a good bit of violence and pretty mild swearing. The swearing I didn't mind too much but the level of violence is a bit too much, this is were the 1 con comes in. There is a good bit of bloodshed involving the zombies. When it says PG-13, it means PG-13, a HARD PG-13/R. There is one scene in particular, involving the Olympics. But at the end of the day, the film really states the true meaning of friendship. Overall, this movie deserves this rating. It will be interesting how next their next movie (Get Claused). This movie is kids/teens ages at least 13+ maybe even 14+.
