Here at We Got This Covered, we love R-rated American horror films. After all, they’re becoming increasingly hard to find these days, but whenever one releases theatrically and nationwide, we’ll always be there to support it.
That leads us to Marcus Dunstan’s The Collector and its sequel, The Collection. Dunstan and writer Patrick Melton’s Saw-meets-slasher flicks were loaded with practical blood and enough gore to satisfy any horror fan and yet, they went relatively unnoticed at the time of their release.
Thankfully, then, in the years since, both efforts have found a cult following of sorts, with many now seeing The Collector as “an effectively-made low-budget horror movie that took a creative spin on the Saw mentality” and The Collection presenting a solid house-of-horrors blood-bath. And so, that’s why we’re beyond thrilled to learn today that a third film is now in the works.

In addition to coming up with some of the most twisted traps in cinema with their screenplays for Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI, and Saw 3D, Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton also brought nightmares to life in The Collector and The Collection, and while the news front for a third film has been relatively quiet since the release of the second movie in 2012, it's now been revealed that a third film is moving forward.
On Twitter, Josh Stewart, who plays the lead character of Arkin in The Collector films, revealed the first teaser poster for The Collector 3 (see below), seemingly confirming that the anticipated sequel is moving forward. Stewart captioned the poster (featuring the stylized title The COLL3ECTOR) with three ominous words: "Lock the door". Patrick Melton also shared the teaser poster on his Twitter account.

Patrick Wachsberger, the former co-chairman of Lionsgate who recently created Picture Perfect Entertainment, is joining forces with France’s Federation Entertainment to launch a new TV production company called Picture Perfect Federation.
The banner will be dedicated to the development and production of premium TV series for the U.S., as well as international co-productions. Wachsberger and Ashley Stern, Federation’s head of U.S. television, will be based in Los Angeles representing the newly formed venture.
“Patrick Wachsberger has long been a game-changer in the market. And we at Federation have also intensely ‘disrupted’ the status quo by attracting and associating the best European talent to our independent studio,” said Pascal Breton, the founder of Federation Entertainment.
Federation is the producer of “Marseille,” “The Bureau” and “The Collection,” among other series.

Paris-born Emmanuel Blanchard studied and then taught history before becoming a documentary filmmaker responsible for films such as “Bombing War,” “Le diable de la République” and “Après la guerre.” He’s currently directing “Notre-Dame de Paris”, a 90-minute animated part-doc, part-fiction film on the building of the world-famous Paris cathedral. Competing at MyFFF, “The Collection” is his first fiction short. In it, French writer and Honorary Oscar winner Jean-Claude Carrière. Luis Buñuel’s longtime co-writer, plays a main role. Blanchard is developing his feature-debut under the working title “Brumaire.”
What is the “The Collection” about?
It’s about an unscrupulous merchant who “buys” artistic pieces from Jewish collectors forced to leave Paris in the midst of the occupation of France by Nazi Germany. Informed by a janitor, he hears about Mr. Klein’s extraordinary collection.
I think it’s a stylized piece about subjugation and oppression with a puzzling development.

Although it's been over seven years since the last Final Destination movie was released in theaters, death is always omnipresent, and it's looking to return with a vengeance in a new Final Destination movie written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that a sixth Final Destination film is in the works at New Line Cinema, with Melton and Dunstan writing the screenplay.
Plot details for the new Final Destination movie have yet to be revealed, but the latest entry to the franchise is described by THR as a "re-imagining." Originally conceived by Jeffrey Reddick, the Final Destination franchise kicked off with the release of the first film in 2000, with the latest movie in the franchise, Final Destination 5, hitting theaters in 2011.

I’ve got a very unsettling and brutal short film for you to watch today called The Collection. This thing is incredibly intense and it does a great job of building the tension, and I will warn you that it does contain some graphic violence.
I don’t really want to get into the story because I can’t really say anything without spoiling it. I’ll just say that it starts out with an elderly man putting on his headphones to listen to some music before he starts mopping the floor. From there, it leads audiences to an unexpected and gut-wrenching ending.
The short film was directed by Carlos Baena, Carlos Puertolas, and Rani Naamani. I like how they deceive the audience with the way the short was shot.
Watch the short below and let us know what you think.

Now this is a sweet find. Movie geeks of all ages need to take a moment to watch this short doc, titled The Collection, made by filmmaker Adam Roffman. "The Collection is a short documentary about two friends, DJ Ginsberg and Marilyn Wagner, and their discovery of an astonishing and unique collection of movie memorabilia, comprised of over 40,000 printer blocks and 20,000 printer plates used to create the original newspaper advertisements for virtually every movie released in the United States from the silent period through 1984, when newspapers stopped using the letterpress format." Once you're done watching, you can see more photos of the plates on the film's website. Wish I could see them in person. What an excellent doc. Thanks to Kottke.org for the tip on this short documentary. Original description from Vimeo: "Two friends stumble upon a unique and valuable piece of motion picture history in Omaha, Nebraska.

No one loves a great scene more than the person who first dreamed it up -- the writer. We're asking iconic shows' creators and writers to tell Et all about getting to see their most cherished moment on their series make it from script to screen.
For Oliver Goldstick, creator of Amazon’s new period drama, The Collection, it’s his work on an earlier show, Pretty Little Liars, which still haunts him to this day. The scene, from season two, plays on the fears that many of us have while serving as a template for the emotional and suspenseful moments to come in the five seasons to follow. While the story of five girls terrorized by a mysterious villain named “A” is very different from The Collection, which focuses on one Parisian family’s attempt to restore the city’s supremacy as the haute couture capital of the world, the two shows...

“Fashion has the power to transform us. It’s not so much about who you are but who you want to be. Even those who hate fashion make a statement with what they wear, if only to say to the world, ‘I don’t give a damn.’”
Such are the wise words by fashion house owner Paul Sabine (Richard Coyle). If only Amazon‘s “The Collection” actually heeded them.
Set in Paris 1947, the atelier Paul Sabine House is tasked by a wealthy and powerful investor with restoring Paris as the haute couture capital of the world. The wartime German occupation of the city, however, has cast a long shadow, and our Parisians are having a hard time shaking off that oppression, the rationing mindset and past decisions.
