Funny and nice but the French history not so good. Albert camus was born in Algeria which doesn't make him an Algerian !!
At that time the was still a French département or for American let say a colony. So he was a French « pied noir » name given to the French from there because when they were forced to come back in France by boat with only their luggage on the shore first thing which could be seen were the black shoes. So pieds noirs means black feet.
