Talk about a drop in quality!

Assassin's Fist was one of the best things I had seen in years. It was so refreshing to see a serious and dramatic take on the Street Fighter lore, and it was a genuinely engaging program with great direction, a compelling story amazing choreography and high production values.

This sequel series however takes a sever nosedive in terms of quality and polish. While Assassin's Fist felt like a proper feature film with all the trimmings, Resurrection feels like what it is - a rather cheap webisode series.

Everyone looks like they are in bad cosplay, and the amateur cinematography gives everything such a soft and fake look that it's hard to get into what's happening.

The timeline is confusing too. Has the World Warrior tournament already happened? Why the sudden jump over a major event?

I'm unsure if Joey Ansah came back to direct this series, but it feels like someone else at the helm. The generic action scenes are too drawn out and incredibly boring, plus the fight choreography is nowhere near as good as Assassin's fist. If it was Ansah returning then it feels like he was rushed and had a fraction of the budget.

A very disappointing follow up to what was quite possibly the best video game to screen adaptation ever.

Good as a fan film. But overall not very accurate.

Street Fighter Resurrection is what we got instead of World Warrior, which supposedly Capcom is working on right now. Supposedly. The film takes place ten years after Assassin's Fist. So the tournament, Alpha and all that has happened already. Laura Matsuda is on this as well. But her backstory is not accurate with the video games. On this her grandfather Hiraychi Matsuda was murdered by Vega under Shadaloo's orders.

But actually, Laura's grandfather is named Kinjiro, and he's alive. I guess they wanted to kind of copy Chun-li's story so they could add her on this movie. Speaking of which, where's Chun-li? Charlie Nash is a big character in this movie, I love how they added his theme song in here, but there's something they got wrong. When he fires a sonic he says "Sonic" not "Sonic Boom!" Sonic Boom is what Guile says.

I also can't believe that we had to wait till the end of this to see Laura use her electricity. Even then, it was so brief you had to play it in slow-motion. Also, lol. A character named Fur Long. It's like they wanted to add Fei Long but they made a parody. That's funny! 😂😂

One of the plus sides to this was M. Bison appearing at the end. They chose a great actor, but the sad thing is we don't see him fight Ryu or Ken. The reason why is that this film is a big advertisement for Street Fighter V the Shadaloo falls storyline. But this story doesn't really serve as a prequel because there are inconsistencies. Like them teaming up with Nash at the end to go after Bison. Ken meeting Laura at his dojo, rather than meeting her in Brazil with Chun-li and Cammy.

So, this is okay I guess, even though it's a big ad. It's still better than the god-awful original 1994 film. But not as good as Assassin's Fist. Bring on the World Warrior movie Capcom!

Disappointed

The acting in this little series reminded me when we was kids playing characters running about. The action was shocking it was no where as good as assassin fist. And plus they was to lazy to make the second chapter to the show as bad as it was I would of liked to see what happens next.

Not the follow up to Assassin's fist you were hoping for

Assassin's Fist is arguably the best video game adaptation to date and I was excited to hear there would be a follow up. Boy is this a disappointment. Zero character development, poor production value and horrendously bad acting. It's only 36 minutes, but even so...don't waste your time watching this pile of dog feces.

Disappointing and definitely no resurrection!

I couldn't believe this came from the same people who made Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist. While that was one of the best video game movie ever made, this one looked more like a fan made movie with cosplayers. The acting and dialogues were cringey and action scenes were pretty boring, not to mention most of them happens in the dark and you couldn't see anything. Some good takeaway is that it's great to see the same actors back as Ken and Ryu, the costume for Bison was also on point.
