John Reardon stars as a football player in this film. In reality, while a student at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada, Reardon was an all-star Atlantic University Football Conference (AUFC) wide receiver.
As not everyone watching this movie will know, Danny's father is played by former professional football quarterback Joe Theismann. Joe played in two Superbowls and won one. He also was an all-star in the CFL and College champion at Notre Dame his senior year.
