Exhilarating experience watching our culture with this first Maithili movie with everything that's talking about the in-depth of Mithilanchal, its rituals, Mithila paintings, paag, the sweetness of Maithili, local maithili songs, paan and Makhan. Got nostalgic while watching the movie and was taken back to my childhood when we used to visit our village on every chhath. It was a peculiar experience that I had had while listening to the sounds of the birds, floor mill, cattle's sound in the background, I could recall smell of my village at the time of chhath. Above all, this has ignited the dream within me to go back to my Mithila and devote my life for its nourishment. As the character Maithili said ," You need courage to stay in the village." Hope that Kranti which has been provoked by the kranti of Kranti babu will inspire many others. Loved the acting of every character. Kranti babu, lots of blessings. Best wishes for the whole team I wish we might get much more such great work in Maithili Looking forward for your next venture.

Very decent movie, and nicely made. This was successful in interleaving the beautiful culture of Mithila, and the problems that has crippled this region. If you are a Maithil you will love the movie and instantly feel the urge to do something for your motherland. At the same time, watching such a well made movie in Maithili language will make you proud.

What a movie, I would like to congratulate to all the team for this art in Maithili. I would also like to thank to entire team to make this in Maithili. Being a maithil guy it touched the core. Please create more such content to give such a standard to our regional movie. I heard there is no space for this in big OTT platform so the makers established their own OTT. I found Bejod (OTT) and watched there. This movie deserve much more and it's unfortunate that big OTT are denying to give space for this wonderful movie. I believe there will be more such content so that regional movie industry Maithili/Bhojpuri will be more popular and people will proud of it. Again I just want to say, I am proud of it.

Loved all beautiful songs from movie :)

First of all, the movie is epic and class showing the current problems, our Mithila region is facing i.e unemployment, youth desertion, Corruption, hooliganism, Paralysed system etc. Congratulation to the Team "Nitin Chandra" for creating such wonderful and outstanding film. This is first of its kind movie in Maithili language with equalising the bollywood effects.

Acting of kranti ji, Anuritta ji, Pankaj ji and other leave a great impact on viewers. Must watch film if you love your native. We should support "Bejod" platform to bring such gems in future as well.

A well equipped social message with awesome realistic approach...never felt like watching a movie... excellent work

A great effort by the Producer and Director to motivate the successful youths staying outside homeland to contribute for their village. The dialogue " Of what use is a degree in Engineering or MBA or services in Canada or America if one can not do anything for his village" is heart touching. The performance of all the artists are outstanding. The names of Kranti Prakash, Prem Lata, Pankaj, Anureeta and Arun need special mention. It is a clean film, without any cheap material and equally appealing to common man and intellectuals. No distortion of language which is so common for Cinema. Full marks for both the selection and pronunciation of words of Maithili. It promotes Maithili and art & Culture of Mithila . The film appeals to the migrants to stay connected to their roots. Hope it encourages production of more quality films in Maithili . Lots of compliments to each and every member of the Team - Mithila Makhaan.

This two hour long maithili movie actually exceeded all my expectations. First of all, I am really happy that they made something amazing for the maithil watching peoples as well. Now, if we talk about the movie, The story was actually pretty solid, casts were brilliant, everyone nailed their role except that one guy who played the bodyguard of Brahma Singh, his acting was awful. Kranti Prakash Jha was so soothing for this role and i love how they give him his original name in the movie. If we talk about the cons, the story is slow paced so it might look boring to few people, the colour grading felt very raw so it wasn't giving movie like vibes, The climax wasn't that good it felt like they dragged movie a little much so they rushed the climax.

Movie has good direction, acting and production but it does not deserve more than 7 stars. People are rating this movie based on nostalgia value as it is one of the rare releases in Maithili.

Movie is a nice attempt to revitalize cinema in the region and that is commendable. It is not bad as per any area of film per say but does not deserve the 9 or 10 star it has been showered with. Here are some of the points as to why:

1. Plot is pretty darn same as Swades. Although story is entirely different but premise is very similar.

2. Story is predictable. You will know what is going to happen intuitively. Also story is very linear and reminds of pre-2000 era regional films.

3. Quite average in terms of cinematography, editing,etc

4. Songs are quite good and non-distractive. However, the background score could be better to make the movie more interesting.

5. The Bejod.in platform is quite unreliable. Poor buffering compared to other OTT platforms and after restarting it few times due to the connection problem, it said you have exhausted the number of times movie can be played while I was still halfway through. Spent double the money to complete the film and again not very good experience even when connected to 4g network.

A must watch movie for all bihar origin peoples.... Everything is perfect,-acting, storyline, cultural connectivity, emotion, drama , love ........

The movie tells the various emotions of mithilanchal and it's changing characteristics. Powerful music, performances by all, direction script which all bring up a fantastic family drama.

It is a youthful film - well written story, good songs, superb acting etc makes this film a classic.

From class acting to music, cinematography and direction, the movie makers didn't leave any stone unturned to make this movie a surreal experience. ****Slight Spoiler alert**** The story revolves around family of protagonist who visits his hometown after several years. A strong connect towards his motherland and some hidden and unravelled mystery holds him back to stay. **** The strength and currency of this movie is not in story itself but in amazing acting which felt so god damn real that for a moment I felt I was in my village listening to people talk in a candid tone and manner. The upsetting reality that has left Bihar as one of the most underdeveloped state of country is shown defacto. Also the Mithila people who strongly hold their culture and values close to their heart and succeed well outside the state are rightly pictured in the film. At times it will leave you wondering, is success achieved by staying outside your own motherland worth it? A visit to homeland by protagonist will feel like a deja vu and the dark and upsetting side of reality will ultimately leave you dejected with anger and frustration. In the end, it leaves a right message that truth always wins..but can everyone afford the cost? Come out of protagonist's shoes and you will be left where you were but that's reel vs real life anyways. If at all beyond the detailed attention to detail, amazing acting and direction is concerned, the movie does a terrific job in bringing the untouched reality (of Bihar and Bihari people) to life. Worth mentioning that there is a lot of special mention at the end to big names like Sekhar Suman, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sanjay Mishra, Sonu Nigam and more. Before coming to OTT platforms, it already won National award for best Maithili film. This movie has set the bar sky high for any regional movie. I loved it.
