The entire film is shot in a period of only 24 hours, the story was written at a cafè in Elverum, Norway, by Lars-Erik Lie and Kenny Wang, under the influence of many cups of strong coffee and small cookies.
The Adidas tracking suit was bought by Kenny Wang during a holiday in Bulgaria, and most of the budget was spent for the renting of a Ferrari. Many martial arts styles can be seen her, Hapkido, Hiep Vo Mon, Muay Thai, Praying Mantis Kung Fu and Taekwondo among them.
The title "Kabul, Oslo", was inspired by the Norwegian film, "Hawaii, Oslo", and the the good guy (Kadir) even wore a Hawaii t-shirt as a reference to "Hawaii, Oslo".
The gangster boss, Kenny Wang, was heavily inspired by the over-the-top crazy boss in "Enter the Ninja", played by Christopher George.
