Very poor suspense porn from a usually reliable source

Jonathan Morgan has an illustrious acting & directing Adult career specializing in comedy, but this lame attempt at a thriller is quite lousy. Even a script by the usually reliable Stormy Daniels is underwhelming.

What surprised me the most, as the feature started to smell quite early into the story, was that such a lackluster effort would be handed in to Wicked Pictures now that the once mighty label's release schedule has dwindled to the occasional film, unlike its glory days not too long ago. (Sure there are compilations and dreary all- sex videos by the likes of Axel Braun, but full-bore story features are harder and harder to find.)

Cassidy Klein is a very weak choice for leading lady, running a self-employed webcam sex business out of her house, along with her oversexed roommate Keira Nicole. Rather contradictory story revolves around their needing a new roommate and quite cornily they end up with one (unattractive and out of shape -what a combo! - Edyn Blair) who while not from Hell has definitely been watching Barbet Schroeder's classic "Single White Female" many times too often.

Before we get to Edyn and her lamely telegraphed (by Morgan's poor direction, or more accurately his inability to master the fine art of misdirecting the audience to slip in clues and foreshadowing) violent schemes, plenty of sex is delivered. The sex scenes over-rely on the already embedded gimmick of the girls doing web-cam broadcasts from their handy laptops, which is a 21st Century way of injecting random sex scenes (the way pornographers would fall back on someone in the cast suggesting "let's watch some stag movies" in order to pad their features with archive footage and the inevitable John Holmes guest appearance from the vaults).

My least favorite actor, James Deen, is on hand to hump in his "Routine Deen" or "Deen Routine" manner, take your pick of my negative epithets. Jonathan and Stormy also manage to botch a late in the film red herring about his complicity with Edyn in her nefarious designs on the body of Cassidy, proving this film not only needed a half dozen more re-writes but considerable re-shoots to be merely adequate. To top it off, the finale violent scene featuring Cassidy and Edyn is so poorly executed it belonged in the Blooper bonus section, not edited into the finished film. Did Morgan shoot enough coverage or ask for second or third takes, or was he fed up once all the XXX content was in the can and merely yelled "That's a wrap!" prematurely?

Unlike the Wicked and Vivid features of old, this baby clocks in at a bloated 145 minutes. Since the sex scenes are perfunctory and the mystery/suspense terrible, it should have been around 75 like they used to be and I wouldn't feel so bad.
