English version of "Wyprawa na wyspe", adapted by
Anne Wood of the production company FilmFair, consists of two separate ~5 minute episodes titled "The Voyage" (as episode 14) and "Attack of the Hattifatteners" (as episode 15). They were originally broadcast in the UK in 1983 on Central Independent Television, as part of its "Watch It!" strand of children's programming. The main differences on the episode "The Voyage" include:
- In the UK version, the original opening where the little boats full of Hattifatteners are sailing in the sea is moved to the end of the episode. The original panning shot of the sea and the islands is missing altogether.
- Some shots are missing (and some rearranged) during the sea journey: a close-up of the ship's bow with fish jumping from the water, Sniff running around the boat while Moominmamma and Pappa are looking at the sea, a quick panning shot from Hemulen to a pipe-smoking Snufkin, and Sniff showing Moomintroll and the Snork Maiden that there's land ahead.
- Notable soundtrack cues in the UK version by composers Steve Shill and Graeme Miller include a breathy mode of singing when the Hattifatteners are sailing in the sea, and later on swarming around Hemulen near the barometer (in the episode "Attack of the Hattifatteners").
