Mugshots: Jimi Hendrix - The Final Hours (200)
The final hours of Jimi Hendrix's life has been the subject of many books, articles, documentaries and television episodes. The story is once again told in this episode of Mugshots, which tells two different stories as to what might have happened to him the hours leading up to his death. His first manager Chas Chandler is interviewed as well as his bandmate Noel Redding as well as his girlfriend Kathy Etchingham and Monika Dnnemann, the woman whose appointment he died in. Of course, these are archival interviews.
If you're a fan of Hendrix then you'll certainly want to check this episode out. At the same time, if you're a die-hard fan then I'm sure you've already heard from these four people in other documentaries so you're probably not going to learn anything new but there's no question that this is a well done piece that at least gives an interesting theory of what really happened that night. I thought the interviews were well done and there's also some home movies of Hendrix off the stage that are from Redding's personal collection.
